What film did you watch last night?

I find these comments and ratings very interesting. What seems to happen is when a film is first released (and has major hype) everyone loves it.

Skyfall and Man of Steel are great examples

Everyone I spoke to, in the real world and online said how amazing it was

However....speak to those same people a few months later, or speak to people who have only recently watched it and they all give is a fairly low rating.

oh, and personally I thought they were both rubbish
 
Lone Survivor 9/10 - watched this film because of the reviews in this thread. Absolutely loved this movie. Best war film for ages!

Rush 8/10 - not a F1 fan, but this film was gripping from start to finish. Loved the whole 70s vibe and the relationship between Lauder and hunt was told really well. Even my gf loved it and she hates racing.

Flight 7/10 - nice action at the start, but as others have said, it goes on way too long without much happening other than DW having vodka. But I guess that's the point of the film!

Bit of a film fest

Insidious - 5/10 only scores this highly as I liked the ending, pretty rubbish before that though.

Stolen - 4/10 pretty dire Nicholas cage film

The Host - 6/10 an enjoyable film

The place beyond the pines - 10/10 not at all what I expected, three films joined together and a very nice way of doing it and the story line. A great watch.

I've noticed this a lot.
The same happened with Avatar.
Many people wrote (during the cinema release) that this was the best movie they'd ever seen.
I thought it was pretty average.

And Skyfall, was terrible, despite it being the highest grossing movie in the UK, of all time.

I havent seen this movie, but I'm sure I have seen this movie get VERY low ratings on this forum. I'm sure some people have given this 0 or 1 out of 10.

It's all subjective, I guess.
 
Escape Plan

It wasn't bad at all, a very much played by numbers action yarn but that's just the type of film I fancied.

7.5/10 definitely worth a watch.
