*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

It's ok normally but if you have a few programmes open it almost grinds to a halt. What's the best price you can get the nexus 5 for?

Out of interest : The batch numbers 310k 311k 312k... are they relating to month of manufacture? If so would it be safe to assume the one I received at the beginning of the month was someones return? (311k?)

The screen showed no yellowing at all next to an iphone 4s or a nexus 7 but the speaker was rather naff and the microphone interference during recording was awful!

I've had an s3 since launch and bought myself a Nexus 5 two weeks ago. My very first impressions of the N5 screen was "meh, it's ok" the colours didn't pop like i was use to on the s3. Now a fortnight later and i love my n5 screen and now think my s3 screen looks stupidly over saturated. The colours on the n5 are much more natural and now that I've got use to it I'd definitely choose it over the s3 screen.

I agree, the S3 screen is wayy too oversaturated.

However I feel the N5 is a bit too muted - lacks 'pop'.

The HTC One LCD is about right IMO.

were did you buy it from mike

A girl I work with has the S3, and while I'm sure some of it is down to her clogging the phone up, it's horrendously slow to use, in comparison to my Nexus 5. I was actually quite shocked at just how slow it felt! :(

I find this is quite a common thing with Samsung devices, it's got to be down to their bloated software. Disabling some of the useless background apps/services helps a bit.

Yesterday, after I was up all night with the N5 tweaking those gamma values, 6 pages of 23 values! I didn't even want to look at the phone ever again! Now I love it again :)

Double tap to wake in the elemental kernel is nice, one of the features I wanted from the G2 :D

im sat here wanting to get a new phone and really want this nexus 5,seems like there is still problems with it that i wouldn't be happy with(and don't want to be sending it back and forth until i get a good one) think im gonna have to wait and hope they iron these problems out and wait for the older stock to be used until i buy one.

has there been any offical feedback from lg/google about these problems? and what they are going or doing about them?

I will be berated, however I loved the video of the official bump case so much that I went and bought it.
However, there are plenty of others recommended at a fraction of the cost - Spigen ones seem to be well regarded.
