What is the Best FREE MMO to play?

Started playing Guild Wars 2 recently and it's great so far.
About £20 to buy the game but then there's no monthly subscription or anything like that.

All thou I wouldn't call it a true MMO. I'd have to say Marvel Heroes also.

You don't have to spend any money what so ever to get at all the content.

The only thing you'll want to pay for is storage space. And maybe the odd character skin/model that you like.

There are a lot of good choices these days

Guild Wars 2 if you don't mind the base cost of the game is excellent. I really loved the story and the things to do in the world, the classes were fun too and a break from the traditional MMO. Dungeons always seemed second rate although it's been a while since I last played.

Star Wars The Old Republic has the best leveling experience in any MMO I've played to date. There are so many characters and stories to play that if you just want a casual experience then it's great for that. The game is a bit limited using the F2P option but it's still worth it. You can improve your accounts features by buying things in the game with game money when you save up which is nice. It's got the best cash shop design I've seen.

Lord of the Rings Online is perfect for hoping in and out of. Solo experience is brilliant and the group stuff is pretty good. End game raiding I never liked at all. The free account is a bit limited.

Rift is good but I found once you've out of the 1 - 10 area it's dead until you hit the 50+ areas. Class design system is superb though, I wish more games had it. The levelling experience is very easy to jump in and out of and the dungeons are pretty fun. Gets super grindy at end game.

I jumped back into rift over xmas and it was actually really busy, up to the 30's at least. Mind you, the general chat made barrens chat look like a reasoned philosophical discussion :p

TERA gets my vote, haven't been able to put it down since I started. Best and most fun combat system I've seen in any MMO, and the graphics and art style are great.

Totally free too, you can buy cosmetics with micro transactions but that's it really.

I'm just curious if anyone's ever played AION?

I'm not a big MMORPG fan but I did like this game, although in the grand scheme of things it's probably terrible, I wouldn't know.

Played Aion for a couple of months. It's far too restricted though without paying to play. In the end i just got bored with it.

SWTOR - pretty good fun, story makes a great first playthrough, need friends for end game.

Ultima Online (free shards....WARNING! - experience with vary greatly dependent on server picked.. also, prepare to get your *** hadded to you by PvPers...you have been warned) - loved this game and occasionally got back on free servers just for a run around.

Neverwinter - played quite a bit in the Beta then stopped as none of my friends played. getting back into it a bit now as some mates are playing. Pretty good fun.

A key thing is really you need to either have friends who want to play too or quickly make friends ingame or they can get reaaalllllyyyy boring!

oh Neverwinter has ingame voip which is pretty damn good quality ;)

Lotro for me .the FTP is a bit limited but will give you a good idea of if you like it.you can sub for a months to get extra character slots swift travel more storage bags currency cap removal.well worth the £7
If you do like it you can get the quad pack of expansions pretty cheap now which will have Moria,ISengard ,mirkwood and rohan so a hell of a lot of content for £30

Playing Rift at the minute but feels a little slow/boring.

I've also had a go at The Secret World but i felt it lacked what i was looking for. Now looking at GW2.

WoW still pulls me back in but last time i played it i felt it was the same old thing!

Only Rift has ever captured me in an addictive way. Lotro is intriguing but complex to get into fully and the in town graphics made me frown. Tera is good with a friend if you want ot use a control pad to play casually and do traditional collection quests and fight big bad monsters but has limited appeal but looks nice.

Neverwinter is really nice and currently trying it out. Swtor is junk and I can't even play f2p for more than an hour before getting bored with the drab world. The secret world is too fractured and niche to really enjoy and probably has a 500 page starters manual but my god it looks good.

+1 on Rift.
I tried it just to see what the crack is, next thing I know Im doing dungeons and bought the base game lol

Really like the role class where you can switch between roles ie dps -> support -> tanker. Its like many characters in 1

is their any MMO out these where i dont have to do pointless farming and quests for xp the majority of the time like a mindless retard?

Well yeah, I play TERA and get most of my xp from daily pvp events/dungeons etc. That way getting xp is actually enjoyable.
