What is the Best FREE MMO to play?

Warhammer Online used to be great for this, but not reccomended now as its pretty dead.

You could try Darkfall Online, but it seems to be quite marmite.
 
TERA gets my recommendation. Great graphics, great combat and totally free with no stunted difficulty curve to force you to buy upgrades
 
+1 for Rift. Was great when it released and gets fairly good monthly updates.

The one thing I hate though is having to pick a talent build at the start instead of just doing what you like.
 
Iv tried

Rift - Good game but can become abit sameish after some time (its like a free wow)
Wow L20 - Good base game but once u hit level 20 u cant do much except battleground for heirloom items which takes an eternity
GW2 - Didnt get on with controls but overall seems okay game maybe u would like it
Aion - Played this before it was free and i enjoyed it a lot but my account got lost somewere and they won't help me recover my anniversary mounts etc so not bothering. Good game as i remember though :) (Wow like again i suppose)
Silkroad Online (International) - Grind fest.. U will spend months getting to level 100 and it never ends after that getting to 120. Little player base left but can be fun sometimes
LOTRO- I actually really enjoyed this game but darting between games a lot meant it never got a lot of play time.

It depends what your after but iv stuck to LOTRO and Rift for now for lack of time purposes.
