Am so tempted to get one of these.
Anyone know what US carriers are compatible with 3UK?
I have a Moto X (was living in the US the past few months). It is my favourite phone ever (I also own an HTC One). The screen colour is fantastic, its fast, and the way it holds in the hand is perfect, it also feels the 'right' size, the HTC One is too big for my liking. I dont care that the specs dont match the top phones. My only bone of contention is that the 4G doesnt work in the UK with it so am looking to sell it.:/

ATT or Tmobile are GSM phones so they'll work although I don't think Tmobile directly stock it.
Rogers or I think any of the Latin America people are also fine but Verizon is no use to you.
That said its out here in 2 weeks, I doubt the £380 sim free cost will last and I think its free on £25 2 year tariffs.
As has been said below it might be worth waiting to the end of the month and seeing what the actual retail price is.
My HTC One starting freezing again then doing a reboot. It seemed to be taking around 3 goes at booting before it would manage to boot proper. Did the same tonight and now is stone deadBeen the best HTC phone I've had but generally never had any luck reliability wise with HTC's, unlike Motorola phones. It did the same at Christmas but mysteriously starting working again after a few days. Bought it second hand so be interesting to see if I can get HTC to stand up to the warranty. If repairs turn out to be very expensive (for me) then a Moto X may be tempting. If the Moto X had been released here back in September I'd have probably bought one rather than the HTC.
Right well don't buy the AT&T version! They just don't allow bootloader unlocking.. period.
And rooting 4.4 on the X is a nightmare right now involving downgrading etc so right now I'm living with this gimpy 4G logo in the status bar and a few other little things (no battery percentage winds me up so I want mavity box) until there's a better root method.
To be honest I'd come to terms with unlocking, flashing a new recovery etc as there's no international warranty anyway.
However, if you want moto maker.. just wait![]()
stoosh - wait with me and we'll buy the updated X later this year
I'm getting tired of Samsung.

I would wait...but we're only just getting the original Moto X now and I've got that feeling of buying a new phone that you know really well I can't shake off!![]()
Is there a successor coming out in the near future?
Think I might just settle for a normal Moto X (stipulation is that is has to be 32Gb and I can fit a Dbrand skin on the back instead. Not quite moto maker but it'll do since Moto's CEO said they were still thinking of a way to implement Moto maker here in the UK but couldn't elaborate on a time frame.
Looking at the Motorola UK website it seems as if the 32Gb will be available but only online.
