AMD Catalyst 13.35 BETA Driver With Mantle and HSA Support Scheduled For End of January

Cool thanks for the info, just been reading up on my on board sound chip and it has some decent features it seems, so I just need a decent headset now to make the most of it then.

Those Roccat 5.1wont offer anything better than a decent stereo pair then? Will have to go have a look what ocuk stock and pick something suitable

is it the 290x or just the 290? cause the r9 290 does NOT have a True Audio chip.

Your onboard will most likely be fine until you start investing in Audiophile graded headphones, at which point you should be buying an external DAC that takes digital or coax out and use that with your headphones.

Surround can be done(and should be done when it comes to headphones) virtually. Dont bother with True surround sound headsets. The drivers are a lot smaller and the cost a lot higher and you wont get the sound you are paying for. This is the point with AstoundSound(which can use the True Audio chip) that it does such a good job emulating surround sound on stereo headphones. Also there are alternatives for games that dont have support for this, such as Razer surround application which is free. I have no idea how good or bad it may be but it is still free.

Using Roccat Kave true 5.1 3x 40mm drivers in each cup and can honestly say there SUPERB!
I have had good selection of headset's over the years none costing over £100 my I add.

From Virtual surround to stereo and these beat everything so far.

Reviews speak for them self.
:D

All I want is something that makes my 2 x HD5870's perform in Crossfire with BF4 because so far NOTHING has achieved that, which annoys me as out of Crossfire I can play the game OK, but with settings down of course. If this fixes great, if not time to go Nvidia again and keep your eyes open in the MM.

Probably won't be what you're after/

What cpu have you got?

So will these new drivers now fix the frame pacing issues in all DX9 games and eyefinity, as well as any resolution over 1600P?

Follow this guide. Once you've disabled ULPS, setup gpu overlays and can monitor gpu usage we can diagnose the problem better. I assume you're using the latest 13.12 WHQL drivers? If not, upgrade. Do all that, then run the game and report gpu usage to me. Should be at 90%+ for both gpu's while playing.

I am running 13.12 WHQL's.

The rest is science, give me a clue :)

How much though? I don't fancy spending a lot for a small change. After all i can get stereo through my current headset if i turn the surround option off.

Dont bother with that mate, get yourself an External DAC running out of your onboard digital out and your golden. Much better than any sound card you can buy.
