I'm the opposite - I find Ibra shines much more in a 442 than playing the lone striker in a 433 - I think it's because of how heavily I play with the wingers in a 433.

Great thing I've noticed with Bundesliga is you can basically have an entire Bayern back 8 then any 3 strong linked front forwards, a team like this would be great if you had the coins:

I always find attacking mentality affects this. When I am on defensive there's literally about 2 people in the box. I hardly ever play attacking but I am sure it increases as on normal you get the normal amount of people.

Some of the shots that go in are stupid.Yeah there is that but it's a custom tactic he's on about I think where you can place all your players into the box on the goal line, absolutely stupid and shouldn't be allowed in online due to the way your own defenders fail to react to the change to normal positioning on corners.

it's a slightly different engine the reason why 4222 doesn't work on next gen is because of the huge gap in the middle of the park and having numbers in midfield is essential imo on next gen.
i combated that by switching to 4231 and using the MCAM a lot more for 1-2's and playing through balls, long shots, etc, etc.
it also depends on your playstyle i played some guy who played 5 at the back defensive as well and he forced his players forward using the L1 and X passes to get his full backs forward when he wanted to. he was a nightmare to play against obviously with 5 at the back and defensive, but he could bring a player out of position to close down my midfield without leaving himself exposed.
personally i could never play with 5 at the back I need players in midfield.
i'm going to try 4321 now which is basically 3 CM's (i'll choose 2 defensive ones) and 3 forwards LF, ST and RF with a left footed RF and a right footed RF, i'm thinking:
Villa -- SIF Dos Santos -- Di Maria
Song --- SIF Rakitic --- Khedira
Eliseu - Pepe - IF Godin - IF Carvajal
------------- Lopez
I have Ramos, IF Miranda and Courtois in another team so I couldn't use them
Why not try that out? the IF players are cheap but very good so I've been told and from checking their stats, I have used IF Rakitic and his SIF should be fun.
Yea I've seen that only happens (luckily) on rare occasion to me.

mentality effects it hugely
on defensive you will get 2 people in the box, normal about 3-4 and attacking about 5-6.
some people do use custom set pieces also but it is rare I have found and very easy to defend against them, all you need to do is hold down triangle.
Take it you can only change attacking mentality once the ball is in play? Or can you change before the kicker takes the corner, then swap kicker to fill the box?

Yeah only when the ball is in play, although some people what they do is change it constantly throughout the match.
When the opponent has the ball - defensive, when they have the ball - attacking/normal. Personally that's too much faffing about for me.
Well I finally got ****** off with being knocked off the ball & not winning any headers so I sold my Spanish Skill team every last one of them & have gone German/Bundersliga & the difference is night & day. Am well happy now as the team suits my playing style & my results have improved by untold.

Same here. I sold every one of my spanish team and with the 450k I got for TOTY Ramos I put quite a good BPL team together
