Just flashing all my ESC to the SimonK firmware lets see if it makes any difference

I need help!

Can I reset the Hubsan controller? I don't know what I've done but its flying inverted now i.e. the left rudder sends the plane to the right.

I'm struggling with getting it set up to be honest. Will spend some time this weekend and get it zeroed out.

Just noticed this thread for the first time, awesome.

Are there any modestly priced kits you can buy to start off with, I don't fancy spending close to £1000 and then crashing it. :D

Just added another P2 battery to my setup. 3 of them means plenty of flight time. I'm getting a little under 25 mins with FPV at the moment. Also got the prop guards now they're available as it'll help with dodgy landings on not-very-even ground when my nephew is playing with it. :)

Can anyone point me towards the parts required to make one of these (an FAQ even) and how much it would cost (don't want /need fanciest!)

You can pick up one of the micro models for around £40-50 or something like the the DJI Phantom is around £350 with everything you need.

Whatever length DaVid recommends on his website on rcexplorer. i think its 48cm.
yes slight wobble when hovering.
i think its down to balancing which is way... going ti have to read up on balancing a tri properly, moving the battery wont cut it i dont think.
ill do some reading on tuning the kk board too... p gains is it or something. cant remember atm.

Anyone know where i can get a replacement aerial for my Orange receiver from, ive had a small accident and all i now have left is the micro board connection ( nope lost that now too)

Yeah, my last one was 45cm, simply because I bought 90cm booms from B&Q :p Thinking of trying shorter front arms this time for more agility, with a slightly longer tail.

Oh, and are you using counter rotating front props? Never used to but the props were in stock this time so thought I'd give it a go

90cm? Mine were about 2metres from B&Q :D Couldn't find anything shorter!
I will be making another smaller Tri I think after I master this one.

And yes, CR props at the front. It's what the KK board showed in the motor layout so I went with that. Test hovered it yesterday and it worked a dream. Twitchy though, need to find a tuning how-to vid somewhere.
I think if you look at the Tri from the back, the left prop and tail prop spin anti-clockwise and the right motor spins clockwise. :)

What are you going to use for the body? G10?

Phantom and camera firmware updated, the transmitter didnt need one. I changed the signal to FCC with the app so I didnt bother with the screw. Just charging all the batteries now for first flight which might be tomorrow now.

Slightly paranoid with the props as they've gone on loosely (as per the manual), but cant believe they tighten in flight

Managed to fully figure out all the settings on the X4 last night. I was just being lazy and didn't read up enough on it. Now I'm starting to master the controls and really loving it.
I had a prop protector on there but it messed with the handling and weight too much so I've removed it.
Next step is to get some more batteries. Hopefully I can perfect my flying so I can move onto something bigger and better :)

I'm watching this thread closely now, as this is the quadcopter I want to buy. I think I'll need to upgrade my phone though, as I only have the Samsung Galaxy S2, and I think you need a newer version of Android?

I'm particularly keen to know how well the FPV works, and what sort of range.

Personally, I think the blue stripes look better on the P2 (and I'm certain they make it go a little faster :p)
