So having problems with my Crucial M4 SSD. Anyone know about the warranty etc on Crucial products? Ive had it since 2012 so less than 2 years old.

What problems are you experiencing?

There was a firmware update to fix the freezing problems after a certain on-time which was released in Feb of last year. http://www.crucial.com/support/firmware.aspx

Use the dropdown to access the M4 2.5in SSD.

There's a 3 year limited warranty on crucial drive, if you bought it through over clockers I don't know if they deal with it?

Details of the warranty are here : http://edge.crucial.com/pdf/warranty/Crucial_SSD_limited_3-year_warranty_EN.pdf

Source: I've got 2 240GB m4's in raid 0 and had to do this firmware update

Not too sure whats wrong with it, except it shuts down my computer when in use after a while.

It used to be my OS drive but kept freezing then shutting down. Upon restart it was deselected as my boot drive so had to re-set it as the boot drive.

Tried formatting and reinstalling Windows, in case it was a software fault but got the same problem. Then finally i installed Windows on a different drive in case it was other hardware but everything is now running fine.

Reckon its a suitable RMA?

And yes i got it from Overclockers So can staff tell me if they deal with it or manufacturer?

Post in the customer service section of the forum if you want a staff response.

Symptoms sound like what that firmware update is supposed to fix.

Try the firmware first. Myself, I'd secure erase the drive before and after updating the firmware.

There seems to be quite a few reports of these M4 drives failing recently. :(

I had an M225 pack up the other day. Crucial exchanged it for the M500. It took about a week. I bought a Samsung Evo so will sell the M500.

There's a firmware bug with the M4, after 5200 hours of use, it causes issues after being on for more than 30 mins (ish)

If you update the firmware, it will solve the problem.

It's a well documented problem.

the problem now is updating the firmware. when i try to i get an error 4 message cannot update drive.
Some UEFI bios have problems flashing the drives, this is documented over at crucial website, i can't update my Crucial M4's (64GB and 128GB models) because of my UEFI bios.

Window,
Ive just logged onto this forum to post an identical issue.

I have 2 drives (Crucial M4s) in a raid 0, one of which is reading 'Error occurred' but is generally fine.
One or twice an evening I the PC locks up for 30 seconds then carries on what its doing.

I cant find any diagnostic tools or anything to run SMART tests.
Ive installed HD Tune and ran an error scan, everything looks good.

Both drives have been on the latest firmware and less then 3500 hours.

Reference your update problem, have you tried the bootable CD?
