I've booked a bike fit at Cadence Sport for a month's time, really interested to see the outcome. Very open minded about the result, even if the outcome is a new frame. Just want to be 100% comfortable on the bike.

How high is your saddle?

I have only had a play through trial and error, but I like it high.
As a rule, with my cycling shoes on, I can put my heel on the pedal, but my leg is straight.

Having the saddle high like this, seems to bring my abs in when I'm cycling.
Having it lower seems to require more leg power and smokes my knees.

782mm

Sit on the bike, cycling shoes on.
Cranks level, heels on the pedals.

Are your legs stretched? Straight? slight bend?

edit - your time is much appreciated BTW! ;)

:)

Well that's from centre of the BB to top of seatpost
my legs are almost straight, but not quite

well as I cycle it feels perfect i'll tell you that lol

It's not a bad measurement to know, in case it needs to be moved for lube etc.

Have you marked all the new positions should anything need to be removed?

no, I've not marked it, I have all the measurements to hand, they use a ZINN tool, to mark it all up and they email it to you

here's before and after video captures :

its more apparent, when you click from image to image, if you save these pics to your computer and flick between them, you will see how much difference he made to me

To me your bike looks crazy. (you would think the same of mine, no insult intended)

All my height is in my legs, seems we are opposite.

Looking at the second, bike fit picture they have achieved a perfect 45 degree angle, which is what I'm striving for.

The 56 cm Secteur has a 565 mm top tube effective length.
We are aiming for an ideal stem length of around 100mm.

Your corrected stem length is 130mm therefore your perfect bike has an effective top tube length of 600mm, give or take a few mm.

The problem with the larger Sectuer frames is the long head tube and high front end, which will, without a doubt be too high for you.

60 cm Cannondale CAAD 10 looks pretty close to me.

I dont think it's as simple as adding the ETT and the stem length together?
Lots of other things will have an effect on the distance between the nose of the saddle and the centre of the bars.

The cannondale, for example, looks like it has a very steep seat tube compared to his pictures of his specialized. So even though the cannondale has a much longer top tube, the slacker seatpost angle of the specialized means that the effective saddle positions might be a lot more similar than the ETT values would suggest.

Yes the 'dale is a full on race bike like the Allez.

Not really comparing apples with apples there to be fair.

However, top tube length is a better indicator of bike frame size than actual quoted frame size 9 times out of 10, especially in this world of compact frames.

The 'dale is a traditional frame with a horizontal top tube.

Nice 50km this morning before it gets too hot.

Took a while for my legs to wake up. I took a rest day yesterday which felt weird doing nothing, then it seems my body forgot how to ride a bike. I didn't feel amazing when just cruising along, but putting in efforts felt fine.

Equal third best time up a long climb, in the past month I've achieved exactly 10 mins 49 seconds three times now! But at least riding with power now I know if I am improving. My PB is 10:17, but I know I must have had a tailwind that day as that's much quicker than I have gone since.
