What film did you watch last night?

Robocop - The new one....

:/

Its just meh 4/10 even as a stand alone film with no previous connection its a disjointed mess towards the end. Nothing good to say about it tbh. Lots of CGI, Robo looks "interesting" and ridiculous at the same time.

Its really bad :( No spoliers - nothing worth spoiling

Rush - Thrills, spills and a fascinating look at a bygone era of F1. You don’t have to be an F1 fan to enjoy this gem. 8/10.

A very short film but great none the less,

Marvel One-Shot: All Hail The King - 7/10 was very funny and sets up nicely for whatever is going to follow.

I finished watching Jobs last night. Man sucky film....Pirates of silicon Valley is considerably better in pace, content and styling.

Kutcher as Jobs was ok, but that script sucked hard. 4/10

RoboCop Reboot - 6/10 - Not a patch on the original but probably the "best" of the needless reboots so far. The script as passable, the acting from the lead was adequate while the supports (Keaton/Oldman) did a fairly good job. The shakey camera work and fast editing added to my confusion during the sped up CGI-fest action scenes (see Transformers also) which reduced my enjoyment of those and the "satire" was far too bland.

Will people be still watching it and quoting lines from this reboot in 27 years time like the original - Not a chance! This version is too bland, inoffensive and dull to capture peoples imagination I think.

Iron Man 2 - 7/10

I do love Iron man, but didn't think it was much on the first one. nice line up for the third one though. (which I'll be watching tonight)

Oblivion - I was pleasantly surprised. Could have had a slightly stronger story line, I thought the crash landing of the ship at the midway point and the reaction of the survivor to be poorly done. But I do love a good sci-fi film. There aren't enough modern sci-fi films around these days. 7.5/10

Captain Phillips. Enjoyed it greatly. so tense at times. 9/10.

Hanks acting at the end when he was trying to speak but was too emotional was an absolute oscar worthy acting masterclass. The Somalian actors were excellent as well.

Wolf of Wall Street, Leo deserves an Oscar for that performance, brilliant! 8/10

American Hustle also - bit meh for me, could see what was going to happen after about 35mins, played out more or less how I expected tbh. 5/10

Oldboy (2013) 3/10 "Not a patch on the original"
Joe Doucett's acting is poor and you don't really care what happens to him. The story doesn't flow and feels like just a bunch of set piece mashed together.

There's absolutely no chance in the known Universe that Hollywood can rival the calibre of the Asian originals when it comes to films like Oldboy/Ring and so on.
