Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [7th - 12th February 2014]

Have to say Moyes and Rooney celebrations were so ott, it was a deflected goal as well down to luck and u could have sworn they scored a last minute winner in a CL knock-out tie.

I thought it would have been well received to have Rooney show that much desire and passion to want to win. He was certainly ****ged off enough when he just trotted back to the center before.

It was, just not by the idiots that want to find any excuse to have a pop at United at the moment :)

It's bottom of the table Fulham at home who are playing last year's champions sorry but this is cringe worthy. If it was like the last 2-3 minutes i could understand but there was like 10 mins+ still to go.

Dude, Moyes is desperate...seriously desperate right now.
I know that some people think that he is under no pressure - but he is actually under immense pressure.

The fact that his team scored a goal, 2-1, so they were now going to get 3 points, is indicative of this. And if I were in his position, I too would be celebrating at the thought of getting 3 points.

Have you read the media/press in the last 48 hours?
Basically, football writers are realising that he has only 1 plan: PLAN A (ie. attack through crossing) and by playing long balls into the penalty area. And if that doesnt work, continue with PLAN A until the game ends.

If his team lose or draw, he states that Man Utd were unlucky and actually played well.

The press interviewed him in the last 48 hours and he gave some very strange answers, something which can only come from a man who is on the verge of cracking.

Some people seem to think that he has a free pass until xmas 2014. His recent behaviour is not that of a man who has any free pass. I believe he knows that his job is on the line.

Losing to Sunderland was a low. But drawing, at home, to Fulham (who are terrible) is a new low. One of the Fulham defenders likened Man Utd's attack/style to that of a Conference side. Quite shocking.

aresenal winning is probably a favour to utd getting moyes sacked :)

Come now, losing to Arsenal is hardly scraping the barrel considering the rest of this season. If he hasn't been sacked by now then its pretty unlikely he will be before the end of the season.

I reckon that we are just about stupid enough to keep him on for at least half of next season regardless of performances going forwards.

It's nailed on to be Young and Valencia unfortunately :/

Why doesn't Januzai play? That guy is class and at times is the only good player on the pitch, Arsenal are not the best defensive team as well so he can open them up.

Will be surprised if he's not on the pitch tonight tbh.

Edit- @ DM ye i know he's under pressure but him and Rooney celebrating like they were about to win the CL was just funny to watch.

I seen those answers he was giving as well very strange. He is adament as well it's down to luck why United are not winning but a lot of football is about making your own luck not relying on things to go just go your way.

I think his position will be very strongly considered in the summer, if he continues to do badly. It wouldn't be much good sacking him next January after he's already spent a load of money on players. I expect the likes of [insert manager name here] may well be spoken to before this summer. There's no way we could appoint a top manager part-way through a season, so if we back him in the summer, he'll get all of next season (bar an even bigger disaster than we've had so far).

Everyone knows this. There is no such thing as bad luck over 2/3 of a season. He is just lying to himself or at the very least trying to cover for his inability to make tactical decisions that change games or actually pick the correct tactics from the start.

We haven't had a good crosser of the ball for a few seasons now and what is his solution, more crosses. When a team is dealing with that so easily you don't spend 90 minutes doing exactly that. We could have been 2 goals down against Fulham and we were lucky that they didn't take their chances.

Our team for later, no doubt:

It won't be that - the wingers aren't wide enough.
