Another resentful thing, used to be cool seeing 4 exhausts on proper sports cars and such, nowadays your crappy little supermini's has it, and its just become meh.

Even the V6 F Type sticks with 2. 4 only appearing on the V8 as it should be.

Agreed, The S1 will always be the 80's Group B monster to me, this new car doesn't do the name justice.

So long as they don't ever re-introduce the A2 series and bring out an S2 and RS2, that would be downright wrong.

Love the totally necessary 4 exhausts for a 228bhp 2litre 4 cylinder engine. That was a clearly an engineering decision.

Same could be said for the E46 M3. Clearly needs 4 exhausts when the Alpina B3s of the E46 needs only 2.... Funny how it is fine for BMW to use 4 exhausts but not fine for Audi to do so

I actually think it looks alright with 4 exhausts..but then my 1.4 Fiat had 4 exhausts so I probably don't know what I am talking about

I was around an S1 today & I like the way they have little indicators when you lift the tailgate up, Cute car in an Off white, Thought to myself it would make a nice womans car.

It's a legal requirement thanks to the clamshell tailgate so not really anything fancy

First time I'd seen them & just thought it a good idea, I was also about a 5 year old Carrera S that had gorgeous white paintwork around the tunnel & interior.

It doesn't, the B3 3.4S is less powerful than the E46 M3.

The B3 BiTurbo is more powerful but has 4 exhausts not 2.

Either way at least the M3 is powerful 6. The S1 has a 4 pot, 4 exhausts just look silly.

Why 4WD? Is it because Audi are utterly inept at designing a well handling/riding FWD car?

Its just going to be an utterly bland car devoid of any feel, that will go fast in a straight line.

Anyway rant over and im sure Audi will sell these by the bucket load.

From a design point of view, it looks suitable on an M3, but on a small tiny girly hatchback it just looks so silly.

Test drove an S1 today. Surprising amount of fun, but couldn't believe at that price parking sensors and cruise control were optional!!

Still thinking about it though....

Winder how they compare to similar powered hot hatches? Especially the Clio, Fiesta (there 200bhp now, right?). I mean that price tag! Nope.

your better off looking at the leon Cupra 280 (reduced in price now with the 290 coming out) or the Golf R , if that is within your budget
