What film did you watch last night?

I bet the writers for After Earth didn't take a knee before deciding to go ahead
Hahaha that is EXACTLY what I thought as soon as they 'took a knee' for the first time :p

The sad thing is that it probably didn't even make a loss. Hence Hollywood will probably make similar pictures in the future :(

e: DON'T WORRY! Faith in humanity restored, I think it made a horrific loss. $130,000,000 budget and in August it had made half of that back.

e v2: although that was just for the US. God help anyone who paid to see it in the UK :(

Prisoners 7/10 Great acting. A little unbelievable towards the end.. could have probably shaved 30mins off the movie.. But still a good watch, albeit, a little disturbing.. (kids being kidnapped and all)

Just watched Argo. 10/10

Absolutely amazing film, glued to the edge of my seat and haven't got so drawn into a film in an age. Based on a truly inspirational real life story too, amazing!

Old Boy Reboot - 6/10 - Not a badly made or acted film but considering the story was virtually identical it did nothing better over what the original had already done, making it feel a bit pointless to me. I did prefer the very last scene in this reboot over the original though as it made for a much more satisfying end (the last 30 odd seconds).

Going back into the room rather than the originals mind wipe

Old Boy (2013)

Besides the ridiculous fight scene half way though I thought it wasn't a complete waste of a couple of hours. I hear it's not a patch on the original but having not seen that I can only rate it on that basis.

6/10

Wolf of Wall Street.

9/10 Best film I've seen in ages... Weighing in at 3h i was a bit hesitant to begin with but wow. What a story, what a life that guy had. DiCaprio is brilliant.

It reminded me a lot of Casino. I think it will do well at the Oscars Best Male lead maybe Picture. Deffo a mans film, lots of T and A and drug binges.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves 4/10

Absolutely loved it when I was 13 years old, thought it was pretty poor when I watched it today.
Kevin Costner is miscast and most of the other characters are annoying.

Go grab the original and see how it was meant to be done, though you have kind of ruined it for yourself :)

I thought it was absolutely ******* terrible.

A film that never needed to be remade. Park Chan-wook's (who also co wrote the film which was based on a Manga) 'original' film is absolutely, utterly fantastic and interesting.
