The Last Of Us

Just completed it here in 3.5hrs - that was due to me being constantly disturbed by the mobile phone though. I found it quite enjoyable, however the latter segments were rather hard on Normal mode I found - mainly because I had forgotten the controls completely. Nicely polished DLC imo, better than most. 9/10.
 
Anyone bought the game digitally? I see its only £18 for the full game now for PSN+ people. Traded my copy in ages ago and thought its a bargain at that price.

Holy crap, now THAT is attention to detail! Amazing! I played the DLC yesterday and then sold the game (got £20 for it!) as I think it will go onto PS+ Later this year, so might aswell get something back right?

Hoping for a PS4 definitive edition, no game will EVER come close to this for me, it was just utterly perfect.
 
The disc version load time is only long on first boot if you turned the PS3 on from cold I found. Simply loading the game again from PS3 home screen loaded it quickly. This is on a 120GB SSD where the game files are installed btw.

The DLC loaded really fast though as expected.
 
Really feel that I should give this another go, got as far as the Capitol on my first play and grew bored with the linearity of it. Loved the uncharted games though, so maybe it's the slower pace that's getting me.

Stick it on Survivor and play it.

It's so much better having to ration all your items and be more careful around the infected.

I finally got chance to play Left Behind. I have mixed feelings about some elements, but none that threaten TLoU's place at the top of my list of favourite gaming experiences ever.

This reminds me why I bought a PS4 even though all I play on it is Netfllix and Resogun. Can't wait to see what Naughty Dog do next... though living up to this will be impossible. We have to be realistic. :-)
 
After finishing Left Behind I appear to have returned to Last of Us for another play through. I only intended to have a bit of a nostalgic dabble, continuing from where I left off, but got sucked back in.

This thing's a masterpiece. The mood, the music, the periods of calm, then the sheer panic which ensures combat never gets dull (for me as a lousy controller user). I've been trying to work through my Steam and PS+ pile of shame since completing this the first time, but everything feels distinctly 'hollow' in comparison.

I think Last of Us may have broken me as a game player somehow. In a good way. :->
