It's been quite a year

Excellent job, well done. If I get to that much loss, I'll be very happy. I'm currently at about seven and a half stone down and still dropping.

Last night I celebrated 1 year since I decided to change my life which led me to lose 10 stone in 12 months. It certainly wasn't easy but without a doubt it was certainly worth it.

Hopefully if anyone else is trying to the same thing, this picture will give you a bit of motivation.

Great work

Out of curiousity and I know this is a little inappropriate to ask, but how has your skin reacted to that. Has it shrunk with the weightloss. A stone a month nearly is very rapid.

Great to see someone just getting on with losing the weight instead of making excuses like 'it's muh genes'. Shows that diet and exercise is all it takes. Great job and congrats!

Which in turn means you eat less.

Yes, but if people go by common dieting guidelines which most people have been indoctrinated to then you'll think avoiding high fat foods will me make you lose weight, when we've been accustomed to consuming animal fats for 100k+ years.

Like those nonsensical 'twinkie diets' are baseless considering there are no nutritional value to eating them, considering weight loss is always a long term thing as the OP has shown.

That's a hell of a job like. 2 of my mates are 23-24 stone and I'm trying to encourage them to work on it. Especially as one of them has 2 children!

Hopefully people who have done it can inspire them to go for it themselves. They are making small steps so it seems like they are starting.

I'm the opposite, I really struggle to gain weight at all despite a very varied and nutritional diet.
If I follow the GDA for instance I'd lose weight rapidly so I have to increase my food intake quite a bit. People keep saying how lucky I am but I don't find it lucky to have to spend a fortune on massive amounts of food just to maintain a weight that gives me enoguh energy to reach the end of the day.

Doctors thought I had a disease at one point but it just seems my metabalism is just insane.

So despite in most cases it's people losing weight - it still gives me some motivation to push myself as I'm hoping I can reach a stable point I can maintain while building up a bit of muscle and feeling better each day by having more energy.
