Who's used these before?

Looking into finance with them and they seem to be the cheapest around for what I'm looking at.

Specifically either the A4/A5.

For a 61/62 plate around 20k, with a deposit of 5.5k, its £240 a month.

Does this seem excessive or quite good?

Now I need to read up on different engine types, fuel economy etc.

I do roughly 10-12k miles a year, but I don't think its enough to justify a diesel.

Any tips appreciated!

If there are better options for the money, please say.

Ideally I don't want to pay more than £300 a month.

Cost per month is totally irrelevant. Total cost and what the Apr is is what you actually want to know.

I've heard nothing good about Evans halshaw mind you

Used to finance however now older and wiser i do not finance a depreciating asset unless this is not a concern. If I was you I would be saving some more and buy outright something half of your 20k.

But I don't want something for 10k, you can't get a decent Audi for 10k.

Well, actually you can. It's not as if the A5 is some sort of box-fresh latest-gen Audi that makes everything else feel old, is it? It's the oldest car in the range by some margin - happy birthday A5, 7 years old this year.

When you appriase a finance deal the monthly payment is not relevent, only the total cost is. It's very easy to make a monthly payment look nice on a deal thats very, very bad. Its where considerable amounts of money are made, lending cash to the 'monthly payment is everything' bling-brigade who will take on any deal as long as its £x a month and comes with DRL's.

Ye I agree with you, I'm leaning more towards the A4 or maybe the A3 saloon, though I haven't drove the A3 yet.

I had a quick blast in a mates A4 and did like the feel when inside, though it was just a short drive.

I want something that really pulls when you put your foot down in any gear.

Do you think 10k miles a year justifies a diesel? Personally I don't.

The A4 is the same car as the A5. Same platform, same interior. More doors.

I went with them for finance, but it was a struggle. First offer off them was crap, so I got a few quotes which they then agreed to beat on the spot. Then they told me they couldn't beat them, then at the last minute that they could again.

Then they try to hide charges all over the agreement - had to go back to them twice to argue things that they'd hidden and then charged me for. The second time they tried to argue that I was wrong and made me drive the 150 mile round trip to get proof that what I said was true.

I wouldn't recommend them unless you can be arsed with the hassle.

If you have 5k is this the value of your astra that Evans Halshaw offered you as part ex or do you have 5k plus sale of your Astra too if you're selling it. Both combined you would be daft to finance IMO as this would be c.10k

I got £4200 for my astra, plus 3k I have saved.

What I thought was a good idea was to use 5k as a deposit, then use the other money saved up for the payments.

If I can find a decent, low mileage Audi for 10k, then I'll hold off and save up and buy it.

Only reason I was thinking finance is because I won't be in a position to drop 20k on a car.
