What have you done to your car today?

I have an early dsg a3 tdi 140. To be fair I haven't been looking after it that well lately, I couldn't find a buyer for it at 100k for £3k and it is now at 116k so I am just waiting for it to die, and waiting for the right spec car to come up to replace it. I have missed a service interval completely, it is a bit of a lottery as I could spend the £2k it needs in stuff doing just to service it (cambelt/chain, water pump, DSG oil change, 4 new tyres etc) and then it dies the week later so I don't want to spend uneccesary cash. I wrote its value off in my head a while ago and am just making the most of it whilst it works. If I don't trade it in for my next car I might buy it for business use only.

The coolant keeps dropping to below minimum, i keep topping it up, it seems to leak over night however I can never find any evidence of the actual leak either on the road or anywhere in the engine bay, and it is bright pink so I would have thought there would be leakage signs somewhere! And the oil, just got low, these engines get quite loud on old/low oil so I knew from the sound that it needed some more.

I will be happy if it lasts another x,xxx miles but won't be suprised if it doesn't. Just nice to use it at the moment doing 50 odd MPG in heated leather in this weather :)

EDIT: There is no mayo type of liquid under the oil cap so I think HG is ok.

Utterly bizarre logic. You'll get far more for it as a trade in where they will check none of the faults than you will just " letting it die". Hell even wbac after topping up the fluids will get you much more back

I didnt do this today but im just flicking through my pictures.

Just run mine in for cambelt change and waterpump. Now dossing in costa waiting for it to get done. Time for some retail therapy I think or a trip to cinema..... on my own :(

Popped the car into the bodyshop this morning to sort a couple of issues post-accident.

They sorted the paint imperfections on my fuel filler cap and also got the puddle light on the driver's door handle working again. They then looked at my nearside headlight which has been wobbling when going over bumps, sometimes worse than others. They took the bumper off and tightened the headlight up as much as possible but it's still wobbling so we're thinking it could be a faulty headlight unit. I'm waiting on a call back but I've told them I'd want another headlight ordered before I waste any more time coming back in for them to check it out again.

Then this evening I took a 120 mile round trip to collect these:

BMW Performance Exhausts. They retailed for around £1300 brand new and don't come up for sale second hand very often, so I snapped them up for £600..they're in mint condition and come with all the clamps needed for fitting. The seller also threw in a JB+ tuning box, which is no use to me but I can resell for around £60.

Bought a new alloy wheel, probably paid over the odds but can never find one wheel that's in good nick.

Can finally replace the damaged one that gives me a flat tyre once a week.

Now with added pic:

A guy I do some work for has paid me to clean and do the advert for his car as he's selling it. Didn't have the time to get properly into it but I think I got it looking nice considering what it looked like before!

Didn't do it myself but used my trusty garage to get this lot done: Gearbox oil change (Castrol 75/90), PAS fluid change (Castrol Dex III), Motul 600RBF brake and clutch fluid change, Pagid rear discs and pads, Front ARB drop links, Lower engine/gearbox dogbone mount, strip and clean brakes and calipers, grease gear linkages, re-fit exhaust sort blows and hang it properly (because powerflow really are crap!), full check of suspension, bushes, general car check over. Clean bill of health :)

What the hell even is it? Is it a colt?

Yep, Mitsubishi colt 1.3 automatic with a mind blowing 95bhp. To be honest it's a lot better than I expected and quite well specced for a small car - it's got cruise, climate, AUX input etc. Don't think I'll be getting one myself anytime soon though :p

Plastidipped the grey dashboard trim pieces on my 06 focus. From light plastic grey to rubbery matt black.

just did the area around the radio and the surrounds of the air vents. I get bored very easily the the colour change is most welcome.

Want to hear those.

I'll try and do a before and after video matey :) From what I've heard on Youtube though they sound immense!

I took the Cobb map off my car last night..it's got to go into the dealer to get the headlight looked at so both the ECU map and Alpina gearbox flash need to come off.

Surprisingly it still feels nice and quick.
