Evans halshaw

Dunno, I'd only be spending up to about 8 grand on one and they certainly don't have any of the nismo tat on, I thought it was the later models tbh but could be wrong.

Plenty around with nav etc - though it doesn't drastically improve the inside

This thread smacks of broken Britain and what is wrong with people today. Champagne taste but only beer money indeed.

OP do you still live at home with your parents?

Don't. Avoid them.

My Fiesta had issue with idling and starting for ages, reported 18 days from buying and they charged the battery, funnily enough didn't help.
Then wanted £400 for a new throttle body, I wouldn't pay so they got a refurb, didn't help.

Gave up on their incompetent mechanics and did my own research. New air filter, £30, fixed. Which according to the saleman it had a service a couple months before I purchased.

In short, don't, just don't.

OP seems fixated on miles, as an example, although Fox may wince!!, I have a mate who's just bought an f10 525d with 148k on the clock, he's not fussed about the mileage but delighted he's got an 2011 (60 plate) f10 for £13,500 from a private seller after negotiation - it was up for £15k - (he's now its second owner) what matters to him is a ~3 year old premium brand for Fiesta money and that's exactly what he's gone for and got.
He is expecting a few bills - and will probably get them! - but he wanted as new a car as possible for his money, quite a lot of risk maybe, but, he's got a lot of car for his money and plenty put by just in case...

OP needs to decide what he actually wants / needs first I think, and disregard mileage (unless for reasons of retaining a warranty for example) and disregard Evans Halshaw second!

Ok to be clear about what I Want from a car:

Minimum of 2ltr engine
Something that really pulls along in any gear when you put your foot down
Looks nice
Tax isn't really an issue
Insurance isn't an issue either
Not something that's gonna throw up massive bills, hence why I wanted newer models
Only in black or white
3 or 5 doors is fine
Good fuel economy, I do 10k+ miles a year

Now where does that leave me :p

A Mondeo Titanium X Sport 2L Ecoboost.

OP just get a 2001 mondeo TDCI, It will do pretty much everything a 2.0tdi audi a4 will do for less money, at the same time buy all of your clothes from primark sell your house and live in a cardboard box, don't you dare try to express yourself and desire to have a car that you think looks "cool" this is just your ego talking to you, we as human beings are not allowed to desire to look and feel good, don't allow your wife to wear any make up or any sexy underwear this is just her ego telling her she will feel good if she does, we must all but grey mondeo's that are built for nothing but a specific purpose, The only people that can buy the car's that actually look good are the ones who can afford to get them with the Big powerful engines because then you can say you got the car because of the engine not because it looks good, All these other young people out there using their creativity to get a taste of a more exciting life buying car's they think look good, having a sense of fashion and buying nice clothes. working out in the gym to look good, smashing sexy bishes etc are all driven by the devil through their ego, they migh be having an amazing time, but all us people in our grey mondeos may be bored and miserable in this life but in the next life we go to heaven apparently so just wait until then and suppress your desires to express yourself for now.

That A4 is £1300 less that I have just paid for a BMW 520D SE (cream leather, pro satnav, full climate control, upgraded alloys and loads of other "toys") on a 58 plate with 48k on the clock.

I wouldn't call it a bargain really at a shade under 10k!

I never said it was a bargain, I'm more interested about the look and style of that car, not that specific ad :) I wouldn't spend 10k on that with 130k miles.

Just checking :)

The A4 is nice, though I have to say when I sat in a few recently I was surprised how much like my Passat they felt in terms of interior quality etc.

Obv. a much nicer place to be in terms of kit and style, but you could really feel the VAG plastics. I couldn't say the same for the A6s I sat in though... class above

It's very very different to any other car I have had.

It's a late 2008 LCI model, so quoted power is 177BHP, but its the STEP auto so a completely different drive to my 140BHP Passat for example.

As you would expect, it's far more refined, it shifts well enough if you boot it but I think the thing thta has impressed me the most is how it sticks to the road compared to my previous cars. I know the B6 Passat isn't the last word in driving dynamics, but it gets reasonable write-ups, but places on my usual commute where I used to have to watch, a large bump on a corner etc. where the Passat would jump a bit just doesn't phase the BMW, it just feels planted in places where I was sure I was on the edge with the Passat (I had reasonable Yokohoma TR1 tyres on it)

I haven't driven an A4, I suspect it's better sorted handling wise, the A6 though was too firm for something to waft around in, they seem to have got the suspension wrong for their market with that one imo.

That Audi looks like it's got a right scabby driver's seat in the tiny bit of it you can see in one photo.

I test drove an '06 A4 2.0tfsi s line Quattro last week. Went well but felt old and not so nice inside
