The PS3/360 version doesn't have better lighting, what will be happening is that it has fixed lighting and baked shadows, whereas the PS4/Xbox One will have dynamic lighting and shaddows, the sort of thing you'll have to see in moving footage to appreciate the visual difference of.

There's no doubt the next gen versions will have more going on, technically.

But comparing the stills, the PS3 version (to me) looks more lifelike.

XB1 doesn't seem to be using the same lighting system as the PS4, the resolution really hurts it too.

Hate to say it but both the xbox one and the ps4 look miles better than there predecessors. Kind of make you wonder why developers are bothering with 360/ps3 when new consoles have been released.
 
The night time bits don't really look any different between last and current gen but the day time bits do.
Still, last gen looks really nice!
 
PS4 version is head and shoulders above the rest.
Xbone is impressive for the lower res, such a shame that they cheaped out on the GPU & RAM.

Because they'll sell far more 360/PS3 copies than Xbox One/PS4 copies. Seems as good a reason as any really.

Also, don't quote an entire post of images without removing them first, please, or I'll start charging mileage for wear and tear on my scroll wheel.

Use page down instead:D. Next time i quote pictures ill delete them.
 
Still waiting on a game I want to get a ps4 myself. Watchdogs will most prob make my decision for me. But this "demo" i'm not paying top dollar for . Will get for my ps3 even if I get a ps4 . When the full games out .... is a different matter :)

But what stopped your friends buying ps4 and then all playing 1080p?
 
Shock horror, new Metal Gear Solid looks better on the most powerful console.

However; It looks good on all of the consoles (in my humble opinion) but you can really see a difference between the generations, 360 and PlayStation 3 v Xbox One and PlayStation 4 :eek:. I still think it looks markably better on the PlayStation 4.
