Cheers man, It's a mask applied to the white rectangle with some distressed effects painted on with the Photoshop realistic brushes tool.
When the mask is applied it removes some of the white, producing the effect seen.
Below is the sig without the mask, the mask on it's own and the mask applied in the layer manager.

I got a warning today about my signature but It didnt say why, I can only presume it was the file size as it was 22kb. I have since reduced it but the quality has really dropped on it. I used the slider in photoshop (when saving) to reduce the size, is there a better way to do this?

Here you go mate, as you can see I have reduced the size of the one in my sig but the quality has really dropped
Yeah I did the normal save and then lowered the quality, will try your suggestion, thanks.
