The *Official* Eve Online Thread

I stopped flying with the Pandemic Legion crew a long time ago as they were idiots on comms a lot of the time too. Have to say that Spectre Fleet have been pretty mature so far, so don't judge all open roams badly I say.

Was tempted to join the Goons but can't be arsed moving all my stuff about. Much prefer living in high sec doing industry and stuff then heading into low and null for PvP whenever and then home again with no dramas, wars, etc to think about.
 
Pizza used to be my favourite people to do bombers with. So many times is join and the guys would be like "let's burn your spy alt". Then get 10b worth of kills, get blabbed and go home.

At least once a week that happened.
 
Just doing a mission after being away from EVE for a few years and I noticed one of my Berserker II's getting shot up. Turned out I'd set the other 4 onto it somehow.

NPCs will also now aggro drones which is a faily recent change - previously only sleepers would go for drones in PVE.
 
Yep I noticed that. Looks like I won't be able to do my old mission trick of getting all the aggro on me and let my drones do their thing whilst I did chores.
 
Well, I couldn't fight the itch and coming back to try it out, after nearly 1000 days away.

I have no idea what I was/to train, I think I have a tonne of SP waiting for me as they removed learning skills. I have no idea where my character will be, I think it has pretty crappy sec status but hoping I can go into some safe space. Can anyone recommend a good corp for UK timezone that is heavily focus on PVP? I'll be rusty as hell but intend on putting together 30 Slashers or something until I remember how to play!
 
I've searched on Google and cannot find an answer so maybe someone here can enlighten me....

First off I do not like the jump animation, I wish i couild go back to the old loading screen, but that's not my question...

After you've jumped through a gate, and WTF is that abortion of a jump animation about? they should let us have the option of going back to the old load screen, I've noticed when starting warp that I see a big circle with 3 smaller circles in it and a red diamond shape in the middle. What is that about? I either suck at Googling, probably, or it's top secret and no info out there.
 
Sounds like you are on about the automated scan for sigs in system that happens everytime you jump into a new spot.
No way of turning of the jump animation though (which personally I love)
 
The thing about the jump animation which people don't consider is that it allows you to press warp to the next gate while the animation is playing allowing to warp sooner once through the gate. I like this as I don't see why PVP should about who can navigate menus faster.

Yeah as floydy says its the scanner overlay, you can disable this via the radial menu on one of the icons on the left of the capacitor on the HUD.
 
Well, I resubbed after a 1000 days away. a lot has changed and I barely remember anything. Also, I'm broke.

I had 2m unallocated skill points which was nice though! Going to basically start from scratch again, thinking of joining brave newbies

I recently just came back to Eve aswell after a not so long year away. Much has changed even in only a year, the miners in HiSec are very skittish thesedays :D .. I only dropped out of cloak and four of them warped off :) ..

I went to one of those data sites and made 45 mill in about ten minutes so think I will focus on that for a while to earn some isk.
 
Edward - it's an isk sink. They needed to have something that would have a market value. Like Jaffa says it does make sense if you consider it a stencil.

I'm puzzled why they have bothered with this. The did a technical art presentation at Fanfest last year and had some other things on display that were received FAR better than more skins. Namely proper hit effects and damage. If they haven't made any progress on that I'll be just a tad frustrated... :p
