Yes hes the bad guy, basically his army can wipe out entire worlds (like the borg) though in the comic a lot of it is about timetravel - which is why the comic is so pointless as events happen and its like OMFG WTF and then they dont , so it all boils down to two people chatting to each other for the whole comic....

Though I hear that they are not making it anyway close to the comic, so it might actually be good.

id be surprised if this sets up Avengers 3 though, as Ultron is man made, where as Thanos isnt and is part of the galactic story arc - which is probably why they made GOTG.
 
I suspect they'll make Ultron somewhat alien, or made using alien tech. I don't think he'll be man made. Especially given that JARVIS is set to become Vision.
 
If they just removed Johansen from the cast it would have more credibility. She can't act for toffee and her parts in first film were boring.
 
Bettany is already Jarvis and Vin Diesel is Groot! There is an argument to be made for The Vision to have the same voice as Jarvis I guess....

I suppose this is no more crazy than Capt. America also be The Flame....
 
There are so many continuity's in comics it's really hard to predict what they will do.

In the Avengers cartoon (which I thought was quite enjoyable) Ultron was created by Henry Pym (Ant-Man), then weaponised by Stark then Pym programs him to make him aware of violence to aid in a battle. Ultron becomes self aware and evil.

I assumed with them doing Ant-Man film then this may be the line they were taking but turns out Ant-Man film comes out AFTER Avengers 2 so guess not.
 
After seeing Captain America 2 last night it got me really excited for this. Long way off yet but plenty to come in between.

CA2 was possibly my fave superhero movie yet (tough between this, Iron Man 1 and Batman Begins).
After reading into some of the finer details online about the plot and where it seems to be going I got even more excited.

Let's just say, the final marvel film could be the most epic thing we have ever seen in film history. It was certain a brilliant comic book story. 3 out of 6 already revelaed, with the 4th possibly in Guardians of the Galaxy (possible glimpse in trailer?) which would also show the purpose of that movie in the overall plot as things are going to go cosmic before too long.

I can only assume we will see Dr Strange and Adam Warlock getting involved before too long too as the final story arc can't proceed without them - if they are doing what my heart hopes they are doing anyway - nothing but speculation at the minute



But the CA2 end credits scene massively hinted at it based on the words said about the item they had...

James Spader is Ultron...oh yes!

My fave so far is Cap 2, just seeing Cap in full flow with his shield and modern combat mix up is sublime. You can see the combat variation between both films. (which works as in the comic universe Cap is the numero uno fighter.


Guys, imagine The marathon binge watch once all the film's finally done.
