Getting closer to double dip point, think I'll sit with Kreeeee at £350 + TF (or another exclusive of interest)

lol @ people who said I was wrong that MS would cut their price weeks ago.

£30 + titanfall is what a £70-£80 cut if you were going to buy titanfall (which I guess is the number one reason to buy an XB1 atm).

Its a whole £30 drop. Launch consoles came with Fifa/Forza.

It should be £320 for a Xbox One console on it's own then buyers should be able to choose whether they want Kinect or not & what first game to buy.

Gamestop are selling the PS3 for £330 and are getting stock in regularly a few of us got one from them for £330 including next day delivery.

£10 cheaper for an XB1 without Kinect isn't much of a deal imo since that's the equivalent of like 3% cheaper and the PS4 is far more powerful, much more than 3% difference in terms of power.

Im not sure how dropping £30 shows Microsoft are panicing or anything else.

I does however position them nicer in the market (sub £400) and makes it a more attractive product on the shelf next to PS4 bundles, Second Son Bundle being £385.

Makes it more a case of which game do you like the look of Titanfall or Second Son.

Its not like they did a nintendo and hacked 30% off the price or something crazy.

Makes it an attractive bundle when it sits on the shelf and the PS4 does not sit on shelves. :)

Readily available with what's being hyped as the second coming all for £399, take off the RRP for Titanfall of £55.99 at your local GAME store and suddenly parents will be sucked into buying little Johnny his new toy because he can't have a PS4.

What's going to be even more interesting is what Sony do.

They are selling every console they can make practically, they don't have to do a single thing.

I doubt Sony could have even planned things to go as well as they have, Microsoft have been playing catch up since Sony's reveal, they have constantly changed things, gone back on what they had planned to do and they are still doing worse.

Indeed, when you see the Xbox pricing immediately next to the PS4 pricing instore, the difference is rather staggering. Bringing it below £400 will help a lot.

I can't see any reason for a PS4 price drop, it's still cheaper so if that's the only factor people are concerned about when choosing, it's still got the advantage.

Except...well, you know by now.

Oh yeah sorry your Asda has 4 consoles in stock so that means every single other shop in the high street and every single website has stock? Oh wait that's not the case at all.

Until I can walk into pretty much any shop that sells consoles and be able to pick up a PS4 like I can with the XB1 then you can't class the console as readily available.

I'm sure during the Wii craze there was the odd shop that had stock that never sold out, doesn't mean that the console wasn't selling pretty much every single console Nintendo could make.

To be frank I think Titanfall looks rubbish so I'll still be waiting it out for a while yet. If in 2-3 years there is a good backlog of XO exclusives that are really good and they are running well then I'll buy one and play through them.

I'm more interested in seeing what exclusives MS can bring as opposed to price. 360 had...erm.....ZERO exclusives games I liked so I can't consider an XO until there are a few out.

I hope they do bring some out but there is nothing on the horizon so far where as there are interesting things being thrown about on the PS4 side that may interest me and some confirmed that already do.

If I was to buy a 2nd console in 2014, the preference order is still:
2nd PS4 > XO

2nd PS4 grants me the chance to play some games with my wife like we did with the PS3 so it'll take some amazing XO games to tempt me away from that

Still, a price cut is a start to maybe gather some interest in it then hopefulyl reveal some good stuff

I've never said that, but yet again you seem to want to exaggerate for some reason. At this very moment availability does seem quite poor but the last few weeks previous, they've been in stock on various sites and stores.

And it's two consoles now, we've sold a couple. Hurrah.

I'm not exaggerating, Sony are doing a great job at restocking websites but they still sell out incredibly quickly, other than a few examples such as yours there just isn't PS4's sitting on shelves waiting to be bought.

Where's my local Game is displaying a banner stating "Xbox One finally back in stock" which is laughable since it's never been out of stock.

titanfall isn't for me.... forza interests me, so until x1 is like £299 then I might get one, and this is a big might.

problem is ps4 has all I need apart from a racing game, sure gt7 and drive club will resolve this issue soon enough, leaving very little room for x1. unless a real killer exclusive that I'm interested in hits the machine I guess I won't own one ....

but good to see ms reduce the price a little..

Driveclub should be good, but don't hold your breath for GT7. Gt8 could be the game to get for racing fans on PS4, I just fear GT7 will be some kind of weird in between game with a million cars no-one wants and 3/4 crappy models.

Someone should tell Kaz to strip the crap out, and start again, quantity over quality is key.

I didn't think MS would get so desperate so soon, that's a quick drop in price for a new console. I got mt Xbone on release and not bothered about price cuts as they are expected but I didn't think it would be so soon. MS really messed up the Xbone and it's launch and are now paying for it.

It was inevitable.

In a market where your competitor is offering a superior product at a cheaper price point, then you have to change something or eventually die off.

They cannot change the quality of the product, it's a set specification, so they have to compete on price.

They are still more expensive though, so it's not going to change a thing in reality apart from make them slightly more competitive, imo they need to be cheaper than the PS4 to be competing on a level basis

One thing people forget though is that the XB1 can still produce good looking games, it's not like being an inferior product does not allow good looking games, which is how some people think of it.

I still think 400's too steep, but it's certainly a step in the right direction.

I think it needs to price itself at PS4 levels (The factual disadvantage, but it then has advantages itself such as Kinect, so price parity seems fair)

People aren't forgetting the Xbox one can produce good looking games. I don't understand why people are so accepting of a product at a higher price point, while in some area's being at a distinct technical disadvantage (Obviously MS has seen this problem, and it is a problem, as they've had a decent price drop only months into the new generation)
