A friend of mine has asked me to find out if anyone nos what the difference is between a Weston digital black drive and a Weston digital blue drive except the black drive being more expensive and having a longer warrenty. thanx

Generally black ones are built to higher standards and have the premium price and longer warranty. There shouldn't be a significant difference in performance.

Blue was aimed at media, and you find them inside WD and Sumvision media players.

Blacks are for performance.

to be fair i generally just look for a hdd with at least 7200rpm and is sata 3 as i only really use it for storage and then have my 250gb ssd for os etc
