I see only way to load Db3 now after pre patch is to install the desktop app?

Anyway to avoid this?

when I re installed I did it from a copy of an old d3 folder, I copied it back to my main SSD and ran the launcher and it patched etc. at the end it came up and said "next time you restart you will be prompted to install the new bliz launcher" I didn't get a choice.

This is what the patch looks like to me...

Well overall I'm super impressed. Struggling a bit with my demon hunter but running through master difficulty to gear up a bit and change some skills around.

Does anyone know if the demon hunter skills are affected by the level 60 lifeleach cap?

Add me Vtec9k#2693 if anyone wants

Had a couple of runs with Frijj barb spec he posted and im having a blast :)

Torment 3 with a full group is testing, what with learning a new spec and everything has changed :) but its FUN!!! I much prefer this than the sleepy solo farm on mp10 I was doing for months, before.

I love the slower pace now, damn I need in invest some more points in resists tho haha. I'm sure I could do torment 4 solo, if I was careful, but T3 in a group, with the level of gear everyone has who's returning is just a nice fun experience.

Hats off Blizzard, I wasn't going to bother with the expansion but I'm tempted to pre order on payday now :)

its still there until 25th march I think? certainly around that date.

no point in using it now though, loot 2.0.1 patch will yield you much better drops

Wow great fun playing 2.0, feels like a totally new game with the way the drops are actually 90% useful to your class. Doesn't help that I found my first piece of a set which was for a wizard class too! Paragon levels seem a lot faster than before as well.

I haven't found one drop better than my current gear but saying that I got quite lucky and sold a legendary, forgot which one for hundreds of millions so I geared my barb out nicely, I suspect most of it will be crap when level 70 items hit though so still something to look forward too.

Just to let everyone know, this new 'desktop' app leaves a program running called agent.exe which keeps an open connection to 12.129.242.24:3724

It stays connected after app is 'closed'

SPYS!!!!

Went back to this tonight, after getting bored of the game on Normal reasonably early on (lvl.20). Anyway a couple of hours tonight and 1 legendary and quite a few rares. First legendary found in the game.

The changes are very welcome and make this a much more fun experience.

paragon level grinding really putting me off playing but the new loot drop system seems a lot better but don't see a lot of reason to play this over path of exile still

it's going to take some getting used to, prior to the patch I was sleeping through an MP2 infinite TR monk so all my gear is tailored towards that, so I'm a bit gimped now. i can manage torment 1 but have to very careful, dying is common. i need to find better gear, I've not found anything that is better than what i have (1 legendary in that time) but I've actually started looking at yellows now rather than binning them straight off! also paragon levels are flying through, gained 3 in the space of a couple of hours.

however, remember when the game first came out? everyone exploiting the breakable pots? have you all seen the powerleveling that's going? literally 1-50 plus in a minute. wonder how long that will last?

that said though, i'm enjoying it so far.

Well I have not played in a long time, played it through to 60 when it first came out, hated the loot system that was obviously balanced around the existence of the Auction House. The balancing of monsters when in groups was also broken as well at the start.

Had a go last night and it is like a new game. My character was very poorly geared so I started on normal and I managed to upgrade pretty much every item in a few hours. Now that I have some basic gear I am not going to get upgrades nearly as often, but it now feels like most loot is at least worth checking. The last time I played you just knew it was all going to be crap.

Normal might actually be a bit easy now. Now that I have some basic gear for a 60 I might need to bump the difficulty a bit. I also managed to get 5 paragon levels last night, having none before.

All in all I am fairly impressed so far. If only it had been like this when initially released...
