I have never had an SSD before due to their relatively high cost. I found one on an online retailer site, a Seagate 480gb on offer for £159.99 so snapped it up, needless to say they are now sold out. For that money it seems worth it.

Not sure of the entire spec but at least it will be better than my HDD

It is the 600 series with read data transfer rate (MB/s) - 550 and write data transfer rate (MB/s) - 450

Just looked at the Etailer again, now selling for £299.99 lol.

I paid £185 for an Intel 80GB SSD.

Best £185 I ever spent on a component.

I saw the offer for the 480GB SSD, very good price for the capacity. I'm sure it will be a great upgrade.

I paid £153 for my first SSD from OCUK, a Sandisk 240Gb extreme two years ago, still going great as my C: drive. My netbook has an Intel 330 120Gb which cost me £60 also from OCUK. The 480Gb will replace one of my HDD when it arrives, looking forward to prices generally coming down as I still think 33p per gigabyte is too much.

Got my SSD delivered today. When I got home I quickly had it in the PC and then installed Windows 7. This is the fastest install I have ever seen. Now in the process of downloading and installing the mass of Windows updates.

I wanna see some numbers,i saw this deal n didn't pay it too much attention, but wished id have grabbed one now

all comes down to long term reliability I guess

I saw this deal and bought one then cancelled the order the next morning it was reviews and comments that slightly put me off and then someone said you can get the 250 sammy pro for the same money. kinda made sense as i dont need that much space for a boot drive with my apps. But it was a bargain.

It's possible to get an 840 EVO 250 for less than £110.

OK, it's not 480GB, but it appears to be a safe place to keep upto 250GB of data. Two EVO 250s for just £60 more than the lesser proven Seagate ?
