***The Official Battlefield 4 Thread***

I just wouldn't take any notice of any of the ratings in BF or compare against others. Just play your own game and have fun.
The stats have no real meaning as it depends massively on who you're playing with, what game mode it is etc.

It's like some posts I was reading just now at the St Louis Blues signing Miller in goal and people saying he has an average goals against of 2.6 which isn't top quality - yet forget he was playing for the worst team in the NHL lately!
It's all relative.

If I'd ONLY ever played say TDM, and only everp layed when my mates were in my team then I'd probably have a K/D ratio of 10:1
Also, there is probablt 20-30 hours play time out of 160 wher I was just messing about, trying new guns, having a laugh, playing when really drunk....

So yeah, stats mean nothing really

Agreed on some of the assignments being horrible, I swear they weren't this bad in BF3. Getting those tower kills for the GOL was one of the most troll things ever! But you saved me a lot of hassle with the tank flag cap assist for the DPM6 camo ;)

There is no golden answer. So many parts to being a good player: map knowledge (choke points / where not to run etc), spatial awareness (teammates dying, audio hints), player skill (fast consistent aiming etc), weapon skill (handling recoil, burst fire etc) to name a few. But most of all practice really!

Also, xfactorgaming on Youtube has some good videos with helpful tips for new players.

Please don't do this! Personally, guys sitting on a hill and going 3-0 k/d in BF4 is my pet hate as it does nothing for your team!
I don’t like using sniper rifles I like to get stuck in with all the insanity.

getting stuck in is the way to play! in my opinion. i love operation locker, it gets really crazy occasionally, especially at the choke points. always puts a smile on my face :D everyone grenade spams and suicide runs, its hilarious.

i used to suicide run but there's so many grenades going off it is impossible to get through and if you do you will be shot by one of the medics reviving people.

sit back and launch ping pong grenades and lap up the kills is now how i do things until i get bored after 5-10 minutes or run out of grenade ammo then try and do a push outside.

it's a horrible map in all honesty

i guess the more you play it, the more you end up hating it! :p i tend to try and flank on that map if i get bored/cant physically get through at a choke point.

theres only one map i hate, with a passion, and thats flood zone. i'll more than likely quit if it comes round in the rotation! Zavod and golmud are my fave's.

are you on PS4? if so add everyone in the OP and post your ID up to be added to the list.

I need more BF4 players on my friends list.

what's with all the bs kills/deaths recently? I empty a clip into the back of someones head and they have time to switch gun, turn around and kill me with 1 pistol round. I think I'm realising why my first 50 levels were done mainly as a sniper, I'm normally 5-600m away and only 1 guy has managed to pistol kill me from their.

Also, Any tips for using the jets? I'm hitting helicopters with both rockets, then the cannon and finally end up crashing into them because the don't take damage. someone hits my helicopters once and they're uncontrollable, I either bail or crash.

How do you guys get such good k/d ratio do you just camp and snipe or pray and spray? I'm lucky if I can keep it a 1 let alone 5.

The guys with a KD of 5 are heavy vehicle players where it's easier to rack up bigger kill streaks if you're skilled with them.

Infantry combat, no amount of skill can save you from being shot. In the back.

You won't find many heavy infantry players with a KD higher than 2.

They aren't killing you in one bullet. The game only shows you the guy firing one bullet because what you client is shown is quite often not what's going on in the server

You also have to consider that there are so many ways to play the game, different game modes, different play styles, infantry combat, vehicle combat, jet & chopper gameplay etc..

All of these will have inherently different average score per minute, average KD ratio, average kills per minute etc..

It's pointless comparing your stats as an infantry player with a tank driver.

Yeah exactly. It's a shame there isn't some way of comparing things properly as I do like a bit of light hearted competition with mates but there are just so many variations I doubt there is any reasonable way to work it all out.

And it's not an important enough thing to put any time into when there are a load of other things to solve!

What I would like though is some custom unranked game creation mode.
Hardcore mode Sniper only 90 minute game on a full sized map!! lol
No teams, just PvPvPvP

We had some great fun on Resistance 1 doing this. 1 hit kill sniper matches on 40 player maps with only 6-8 of us.
Or you can set it up so someone is being hunted.

Hell, even back on the N64 we used to play whoever had the golden gun could kidnap someone and hold them in one of the secret areas and others could try to rescue them but obviously golden gun was 1 hit kill.
That was fun and we all were looking at the same screen - which kind of ruins it a bit!

You could have SO much fun in BF4 if they allowed custom setups among mates.

Rarely get any of that these days in games.

Good to know cheers for the reassurance.
