Hi all
Will the lastest APU with dual graphics card make a decent gaming system or am I kidding myself. Please let me know what you think

AMD A10-7850K

Gigabyte GA-F2A88X-D3H

Radeon R7 260X

Plus some fast Ram

Dual Graphics does very little.

It offers little to the card you use with it..

The answer to you're question is in the context.

What games are you playing?
At what resolution?
What graphics level do you want (minimum)?
What is you're budget (what components do you need?

I think, you either go for a full APU rig (no GPU), or you grab a 6300 and a 270X.

Agree with Doomed. Especially as the Kaveris only have Crossfire support for R7 240 and R7 250 cards (so you wouldn't be able to use dual graphics with a 260X anyway). No news on whether that will change, that I'm aware of.

I was tempted by the idea, but then read a lot of poor reviews of it:

http://www.techspot.com/review/781-amd-a10-7850k-graphics-performance/page7.html

Appears to be very different depending on the title and whether crossfire is well supported or not, going anywhere from a reduction in fps to +90%. But it appears as though a low end intel + R9 260x is a much better proposition overall, unless you're going super cheap without a discrete graphics card

And, as above, the 260x doesn't x-fire with the kaveri

yeah you need a 240/250

Ok I got it no APU, I obviously misread techspot on the 260x. So as you can see I am on a budget about £260 for board, cpu and ram and hopefully I will have about £150 to spend on gpu, I already have the case and psu.

So you recomend fx 6300, would the fx 6350 be any better and what board would yoh go for as I need to overclock with no problems

That, s brill still have some dosh left over, there are a few R9 270x with 4096mb are they worth the extra £20. Also would you recommend a board from Asus as I know my way around them. Appreciate the help thanks

If you want a very good OC board, you may have to fork out a little (£20 or so) more..

These are my favourites:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 AMD 970 (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £74.99
1 x Gigabyte 970A-UD3P AMD 970 (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £71.99
Total : £156.58 (includes shipping : £8.00).

The Asus is very good, with 6+2 power phase cooling. Its at a good price too.

The Gigabyte has 8+2 Power phase cooling and is cheaper. I prefer gigabyte because of their UK RMA.

Ive got the asus crosshair for my fx8350 which I love, very easy to overclock on

Sorry but thats not very helpful, a board £100+ more than the suggested board. Of course its going to OC well..

Make sure you keep in mind the OP's budget.

nah the 4gb is not worth it at 1080p.. unless its 1440p and at 1440p you wont be using a 270x in the least! perhaps for quiter and better cooling designs I would pay the extra 20 for something i didnt hear
