Have any of you swaped from WASD?

Coming from consoles to PC, using WASD was very hard, took ages to get used too. Never thought of using anything else.
Same here, although I finally adapted :D:cool:
arrows and binds around arrows for CS1.6/CSGO.

WASD for anything else.

Another question: anyone else use reverse mouse? :)

Why would someone use reverse mouse? :o:p Confuses me so much.

WASD for me.

I started off with arrow keys, then made the switch to TFGH but once i got a mouse with extra buttons ended up with old boring WASD

How can you use the mouse if you dont use wasd? It keeps the left hand on the left side of the keyboard so more comfortable

Of course if you are left handed, left hand mouse and right hand arrow keys (or numpad) I guess is the way to go

Have been using WASD since I started playing FPS on PC back with the original Halo. I think I am too entrenched now to try anything else although I can see the advantage of some alternative setups.

I've tended to favour ESDF for many years, due to liking having the "nipple" on the F key for orientation. It's disadvantage is that it's a bit less easy using your little finger on the A and | keys for functions that it is using Shift & Ctrl. And you always have to reprogram from the default keys.
Another plus, for me, is that you can use A and G for leaning: on that note, what do WSADers use to lean?

I'm left handed... But use wasd and use mouse with right hand, My first fps was quake II at my mates well before I got my own pc so just got used to it. I play inverted for the same reason lol. I'm a right mess :p

arrows and about 15 rebinds around them if needed. Big hands have no limits.

shift = reload
enter = use
kp_0 PTT chat program or Facestab !

When I first started playing CS many, many moons ago I used Mouse2 as walking forward, with N as walk, M as crouch, , as strafe left and . as strafe right!

Crazy I know! :D

I'm an arrow user and I also invert the mouse, it just feels wrong with me to have the mouse the normal way up, I think it comes from playing flight sims before fps games with 3d controls.

I haven't technically 'swapped' from WASD as I bypassed that and went straight to TFGH when I was learning to play FPS with the mouse. The original reason was because I was using default weapon binds and that put my fingers in reach of the better weapons in Quake (5-8) :) I then stuck with it because being fairly central it gave access to loads of keys for teambinds (probably less important these days as voice comms are fairly prevalent, but 10-15 years ago they were very important in Quakeworld and I've got over 20 team binds).

That said, nowadays with SP games I often can't be bothered to remap the keys and just use WASD.

If you're going with the logic of changing from WSAD for better keyboard access surely going RDFG would bebest especially in MMOs, you have a hell of a lot of keybinds at your disposal then.

Started off with arrows, and have never had the desire to change to anything else at all.

+1. Never had to change. For games that don't support key bind changes, I usually create an Autohotkey script and run it at the beginning of the game. Annoying sometimes but hey... that's usually a sign of a bad port!

im still using ARROW keys, and keypad, cant stand using WASD !

flashback wont let me use the keypad, so im struggling through using WASD keys :(

ok so i tried RDFG today in BF4... things didn't go too well, with practice i can see it working but given it was my first time using it i ended up standing still a lot getting shot!

Most of the time I can't even be bothered to change the default binds in games, unless they're absolutely horrible by default then I leave them all as standard and just learn each game individually.

WASD here, but started on arrows as many others did due to DOS games primarily. Actually preferred WASD though for FPS games so stuck to it for everything since.
