I'm in the small minority of 12%, the design has grown on me a lot. Enough to make me part ways with the Note 3? I don't think so but would need to have a hands on play with the S5 first.

Sorry guys, after the Oscars it's totally clear... Samsung is the new Apple.

Focus has clearly shifted from innovation to marketing. Next step, IP-defence.

Time to start the hating :p :D

Each to their own, but you'll have to accept that most PDA-phones (sorry I hate using the buzzword "smartphone") have crossed the boundary of cameras, MP3 players, handheld consoles as well as being the aforementioned PDA.

You complain about smartphone, but then use other buzzwords like MP3 player and PDA.

Allot of these new phones are now too big now, Galaxy S4 size is as big as I'm going, got to draw the line somewhere.

A lot.

I'm indifferent to the design, I like how the front looks, but not the back so as a package, indifferent.

However, I think too many people are getting way too emotional about the way a phone looks.

It's a bit bizarre how disliking the way it looks isn't enough, people have to start wheeling out the hyperbole, and going on and on about how the phone is junk, crap, and whatever else based on disliking its looks.

Okay, so you dislike how it looks, isn't that enough? You don't have to start inventing additional negatives to it based on a dislike of how it looks.

So what does the S5 offer over the previous gen Samsung phones?

Don't like the fact they're still using chrome-painted plastic or the back. The front looks fine. I don't like the extra bulk of a case; I have a Note 1 and the chrome has worn off around the sides from putting it in pockets. I don't think I'll get the S5 for that reason - Z2 or next HTC One look far nicer.

I know of someone you'd get along with:
