BBC 3 to go?

Him & Her was pretty good I thought, not really bothered with anything else on there though.

ok, this might sound stupid .... but if they are ditching bbc3 and keeping bbc4 , wont that mean they will have to rename bbc 4 - bbc3 ? why not ditch 4 and put those programmes on 3 ?

BBC4 will probably be renamed to something like BBC Arts I'd imagine.

There is no way they would move BBC4 programmes to BBC3. The audience would be confused and stop watching BBC3 if they found stuff worth watching on it.

BBC3 the channel is going but a lot of shows are going onto iPlayer instead....cos dat is wat da yuf watch innit.

BBC4 has some great stuff, I'm never usually in the mood to watch it during the week, but record a lot of it to consume on a Sunday.

Likewise. never watch 3 but quite a lot on 4

BBC4 has value, but the decent content on both 3 & 4 could easily be squeezed into 1 & 2.

I'm a big fan of the BBC as a cultural 'anchor' for UK media, but the expansion of TV and radio stations was not one of their better ideas, especially in the age of the PVR and iPlayer, allowing most of the audience to time shift effectively.

Less is more.

I was thinking about what BBC TV I watch

After 3 goes it will be nothing. And I mean literally nothing.

Don't care about BBC3 or BBC4. I'd rather have both canned and more money put into things on BBC1 & 2.

They could start by adding another couple of episodes to each season of Top Gear.

So let's say I exclusively watch bbc 3, I guess that means I don't need a tv license anymore then? Amirite? Providing I simply use it online for catchup and don't watch it as it's being broadcast..

People on the news were fretting on about where new or avant garde comedy would go if it weren't for BBC3, seemingly forgetting that we got by just fine with things being broadcast on BBC2 back in the day.
