3 mountain dews and a lucozade please

Uh with or without my mum when I was a kid I would want a coke or something, how is this any different. You don't have the right to an opinion on it you grumpy sod

these days we are a lot more educated about food though there was a time when pretty much no one bothered what the calorie content was or how much sugar something is packed with.

you can't really tell someone else how to raise their kids though

Lot less obese kids in the 'olden days' though.

a lot more playing outside with ball games , hopsotch , tag , kick the can , rounders , frizebee , kerby etc though.

these days I rarely see kids playing outside and when they are they aren't exactly what I would call active.

peoples lives changed and the diets didn't

you don't even see many kids with bikes or skateboards around here , I can't remember the last time I saw a kid on skates either

Because parents are too busy looking after their own kid(s) to bother giving advice to other parents?

Close.

There is no such thing as a perfect parent, we all fail at it to some degree.

It's only once you have tried that you realise how hard it is.

McDonalds is as bad as anything.

Kids are getting far too much sugar in their diets today though (and too little exercise) so that's much more of a problem than a little caffeine (say from a Coke)

Most people these days not just kids are getting far too much of everything in their diets, demonising sugar or fat depending on how the media is feeling that day is all well and good but it won't solve the fact that many people these days are just gluttons/too lazy to make proper food/totally oblivious to the stuff that passes their lips/never been taught about healthy diets/just don't care delete as appropriate.

Boxing stance tbh

and then a fist under his chin to ensure he knew that you meant business.

There isn't an awful lot you can do in these situations, maybe just a tut, look at the floor and shake your head as he walks off. That makes you a moral victor in my book. :p

More cars / traffic soon put an end to Curby, that's even living in a fairly quiet countryside town

So far too much fibre? Or vitamins? Or iron? You're right as in diets today aren't as balanced as they should be.

Combined with a sedentary lifestyle is trouble.

I would have been Thankful the kids knew what they wanted & didn't delay me any more than necessary. :p

Let it be and carried on.

I am sure the parents know the dangers of too much fat and sugar. I guess they'll either regret their actions in a few years with the kids developing a health problem from it or the kids may grow up to be well respected members of public who don't cause crime and drink fizzy pop drinks in public.
