Style over substance.

I can not pretend to be expecting much, based on what the original offered, however I enjoyed the visual style and the film became a bit of a guilty pleasure.

Will probably wait for the blu ray though.

Well, after going to watch this with no expectations, I have come away very impressed. Watched in IMAX 3D but 3D wasn't so good. Fight scenes are done well with lots and lots of blood and the SFX is very good.

7.5/10 for me.

I thought it was a good film and seems like there might be a third.

The under water horse was ridiculous though.

Thought it was utter tosh. Think I fell asleep for about 10 or 15 minutes at one point. Still, some rather excellent boobage meant it wasn't a total loss.

I enjoyed it, obviously it was never going to be good as the original but as already mentioned it's a bit of a guilty pleasure.

I just love how over the top everything is, it's like we are watching some over exaggerated story told by someone who witnessed the battle and wants to make the story of it as epic as possible.

Oh yeah soundtrack was awesome as well and it's always nice to see a bit more of Eva Green of course!

Terrible film really was, I loved the first one but this was bad. Just never gripped you in the same way.. You felt nothing for the characters.. Good job it was orange Wednesday or I'd be doubly upset ..

Hmm bit gutted to hear this. Couple of people I know that have seen it said it you loved the first you will love this just as much if not more.

I wasn't that interested from the trailer. I did love the first, was one of my favourite films but I dunno if all the sparticus stuff since then has bored me as the new one doesn't appeal as much.

I thought it was pretty much the same as the first overall. There were no iconic 'This is Sparta!' moments but overall it was very similar.

Saw this on Saturday. Thought it was alright, my memory of the original isn't the best for comparison but i don't recall thinking it was as good.
