'Contact lost' with Malaysia Airlines plane

so they are looking in the wrong place, the whole search has been one **** up after another

and people are blaming Malyasian authorities over it, when China are basically ****ing with them , varying authorities releasing data well after the event like complete tards, and then certain members of the public/press effectively trolling about the location of the plane that could literally be anywhere now.

Its a lost cause until the politics are removed and everyone actually works together instead of in their own little groups not sharing information in a timely manner.

Boeing wouldn't. They get avionics data. Engine data goes to Rolls Royce.

As i understand it, the data doesnt "go" to Boeing or Rolls Royce. It is broadcast unencrypted and can be picked up by anybody listening for it.
Or have i misunderstood this?

There was never anything there in the first place.

What do you mean by that? There was something there, maybe not a plane part but something, which hasn't been found...

I think that image is just saying how far it could have got if the 'around four hours' thing from RR/Boeing is correct. The WSJ/its journos did also mention it would have had enough fuel to get past Beijing (obviously).

Ah yeah, just odd that is magically the exact distance travelled if it were flying normally. While I get the autopilot may have been set to Beijing and then turned off at that point it would still mean it basically overflew the airport! Unless of course it was majorly confused with no GPS and the inertial guidance screwed up...

In the conference they said the pictures had gone up on the Chinese website by mistake. Also they searched the area "thoroughly". "There is nothing. We went there, there is nothing." Those low-res blobs could have been absolutely anything.

The system is ACARS:

To aid maintenance, most airlines use the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS), which automatically collates and files four technical reports during every flight so that engineers can spot problems. These reports are sent via VHF radio or satellite at take-off, during the climb, at some point while cruising, and on landing.

Given the right equipment and software you could receive and decode it.
