Hi,

I bought an EGO vision starter kit last week (after seeing it recommend a few pages back) to see what vaping was like and never really had any intention to quit the cigs, but since I started using it last Monday I have not had a single cig (usally smoke around 20 rollies a day). Very impressed and still get to have my usual smoking routine just replaced it with vaping. I even lasted Friday night with a few beers and I was sure that I would have at least a couple of rollies then.

My problem now is that I find the batteries just don't really last long enough for me. So I could just buy a bigger battery for my ego and use the clearomisers that came with it, but am wondering if I am spending some money should I just get something decent that will allow my new vaping 'hobby' to grow.

I have been looking around and have seen that the MVP2 seems to get good reviews. But I am still a little confused on all the different attachments (clearomisers, cartomisers, atomisers etc.) Ideally at this stage I would still like something that I can just fill with some juice and get vaping.

So my question is is the MVP2 a good choice? and what clearomisers, cartomisers, atomisers would you recommend based on me still been very new to it all.

Cheers

Bit of a tough question this is, I started off like you and bought a bog standard set up like yours, realised that it was a better alternative to smoking and then I moved on to a variable voltage device in the quest for more vapor/throat hit, then I moved on to mechanical mods and this is where I have found my perfect vape and don't have to worry about performance drops, leaking tanks, and dodgy batteries.
You have to do quite a bit of research with mech mods and understand how to recoil your device and also what wattage/voltage/ohms are and how they affect the performance. You also have to factor the possible risks of using mechanical mods and how to do it safely.
So if you are keen on making the switch then I would recommend you read up properly on what I have mentioned and when you feel confident get yourself a mech mod. It will save you money in the long run and give you the most satisfying vape.

Been vaping for a few months now and decided I wanted to try my hand at my own VV/VW Box Mod. So here she is

Nothing spectacular but it works like a charm. I used a Vamo V5 board for the internals so it has a 6v and 15W Limit :-)

Been just over 4 weeks and no fags now! :)

Problem is I think I'm just substituting it for another evil! - I vape so much I go through 3 batteries per day on my SVD (1 large, 2 small ones).

Found I get headaches, and high blood pressure! - Is this because of the liquid I'm using or I'm just over doing it?

I currently use 8ml (lowest level nicotine) debank vapour - go through a 10ml bottle every couple of days. Tried mixing it with some non-nicotine stuff (starbuzz) but still feel the same. Come lunchtime (like now) I'm light headed and start feeling like my head is gunna burst by about teatime.

Doing it wrong i guess?

I to was in the same boat and have wasted loads of time and money on various clearos and the heads for them.

I've got a kayfun now and i wish i'd have got one months ago, i kept putting off getting one because i thought it would be a pain to get them working and like yourself i just wanted to fill and vape, but they are really easy to wick and coil, i made my first coil in about 10mins and i vapes like a dream(now i have decent cotton:D) also there is no clearo/carto on the market that can produce anywhere near the flavor i've got out of a kayfun.

My advice would be not to mess around with clearos etc and go head first in getting a kayfun, i wish i had when i first started, i would have saved £££'s

Overdoing it from the sounds of things. Try upping the strength and cutting down on use. That should get rid of cravings more quickly... then you just have to use your own initiative to keep it out of your mouth. :D

Alternatively, try moving to nic free? Then you can chuff away all day, and might actually find that it isn't the nicotine you need.

Sounds like a classic case of the old vapers tongue/

Not sure if it is. I mean, does someone with vapers tongue mean they get absolutely nothing at all, like zero taste, or they can taste a bit of the juice, but just not properly? I can still get the basic taste of juices, only no creaminess at all, hardly any sweetness (I sometimes get bursts of sweetness and often have to whack the power up just to try and get some) and just a bland, watery sort of taste to my juices as I inhale.

I had a biopsy on my tongue couple of months ago and go for a follow up appointment in a couple of weeks. The doctor who did the biopsy thinks I have geographic tongue since there are patches where the papillae are gone. I find vaping does aggravate it, making the top of my tongue very dry and always feel like when you've burnt your tongue on a hot drink. I can only think that it's maybe to do with this.

What makes it confusing though is that I was able to taste juices properly up to last week, even with this condition, so maybe it's a combination of my tongue and vapers tongue or something else. Also, I can still taste food perfectly. Suffice to say, I'm miserable at the moment with vaping as I have a bunch of new juices here that I can't enjoy, 6 new ones from vaping king, another bottle of coconut caramel hazelnut from AC and two bottles of scopes apple tart. :(

I know I should really pack up vaping for a few weeks to try and let my tongue heal (if it heals, there's no known cure for geographic tongue, it comes and goes) but I don't really want to do nicotine substitutes or go back to smoking. I do at least get a nicotine fix, even though the experience of vaping is crap at the moment. I'm currently selecting juices I have that I'm not keen on, so at least I don't waste the good ones.

Tried another atty? Still the same? Likely thing is your body is rebuilding your taste buds. May last a while but look forward to food that tastes better on the other side.

Yeah, tried a different clearomiser, still the same.

Hey all! Looking to upgrade by vaper, currently using http://www.myshishapen.co.uk/products/rechargeable-refillable-electronic-shisha-pen

Have no real problems with it, only when changing flavours the clearomizer will still taste of old flavour for a while, I know simple solution is to buy clearomizer for each flavour.

What do people suggest for an upgrade on my vaper? Nothing to fancy, not sure if variable voltage is my thing.

Depends for me. Joose juice give you a sneaky bogoff when you buy 30ml, so you get 60ml for a tenner delivered.

I have only tried their menthol and banana and nut bread. Both are very nice. Going to try their apple pie next.

Have been using the apple pie as of yesterday.

Even in the iclear16 (broke my iclear30b simply when cleaning out the damn thing, putting any liquid in there it now just drips out like a tap :() the flavour is actually quite nice!

Trying it as I was curious, only steeped it for 5 days so far though, needs another few days before I start using it properly.

Now on week 5 off vaping and so wished I had done this earlier. I had no intention of giving up smoking but was fed up of coughing (coughed so hard, I pulled a muscle in my side), I had to do something.

No coughing at all now and I seem to have a bit more fitness. I did have a couple of drags of a proper fag but couldn't stand it and didn't get the hit like I do with my protank. I do tend to vape too much but as it doesn't appear to be doing me any harm, I don't care.

Tempted to grab something bigger/better but would I just be wasting money guys?

Cheers for the advice guys, so after watching numerous videos and reading lots of reviews I have decided to upgrade my eGo starter kit to an

iTaste MVP 2, this seems to get great reviews and the battery should last an age (http://myepack.co.uk/itaste-mvp-v2-0.html)

and a Kanger Aerotank (http://myepack.co.uk/aerotank.html) the reason I went for this now is that you can use the air flow control ring on other devices such as the protanks which maybe useful I guess.

Hopefully this will be a good upgrade there is so much out there I didn't really know what to get but these 2 kept popping up in recommendations so fingers crossed.

I am not a smoker, apart from the occasional cigar now and then. Tried my brothers e-cigs a few years ago and enjoyed it for a few days. What I am wondering is are there any good reliable brands that do nicotine free flavoured ones?

Pretty much just want flavoured vapour with no negative harmful stuff inside. Any suggestions would be much appreciated :D

You can grab any kind of clearo/tank based job and just buy your own juice. Almost every seller out there sells nicotine free versions of their flavours. :)

Right, a week or so ago i was thinking of dropping to 12mg nic to see if thats the cause of the odd taste im getting (im changing my cotton supply later with asda stuff and voodoowool on the way)
Issue is, Flavourart dont do 12mg, only 24,18,9 - cant remember who nor can i find the post but they mentioned mixing 2 of the same flavour but in different strengths to achieve a lower nic.

So based on that, if i buy 10 bottles (100ml) but split 50/50 which 2 nic amounts would be close to 12mg if straight mixed 5 bottles to 5 bottles.

Thanks for the reply. Now my question is what do you guys recommend? Also are the websites on the 1st page what you all still use? As I noticed that page was last updated back in November.

I am not looking to spend much, so price for performance what is best?

Many thanks :D:D:D

Mixing 18 and 9 mg 50/50 would give you 13.5mg juice.

Question for you Kayfun users; do they leak?
I carry my MVP or my SVP in my pocket and so never got on with genesis style atties due to them leaking if not exactly upright.
