Reading these posts is confusing and it seems a like what you guys are doing involves a lot of hassle. Are there no good off the shelf alternatives that I could just buy then just change the tip with new nicotine free flavoured juice?

Sure, there are plenty of devices like this. Look at some of the eGo systems.
The thing is, vaping, like anything; has extremes. People in this thread tend to be the modders who want to get the best flavour etc and are prepared to put the work in.
It's like cars, or computers. You can buy a nice new car or computer that will do a lot of people just fine, but for many people it's not enough.

You just learn to make a coil and do it yourself, works better and saves you a load of money in the long run. Costs less, easy once you learn to do it, works better, skip all the replaceable heads and do it yourself, as I said its easy once you learnt how to do it, costs pennies and tastes nicer / works better than pre made. Do what you want at the end of the day, just trying to be helpful and save you some money / wasted time :)

My Vamo V5 turned up this morning. I bought this as a kit, it came with two 18350 1200mAh Trustfire batteries. After doing a quick search for other batteries I'm finding this a bit confusing.

I'd like to buy a couple of spare 18650 batteries to save stacking the two. I'm thinking it would be easier having two 18650 batteries on charge rather than charging two individual sets of the 18350's.

Can anyone recommend a 18650 battery?

I've been looking at the Panasonic NCR18650PF & CGR18650CG. Are there better alternatives, perhaps higher capacity?

Yeah, I am beginning to see that. Had no idea before checking this thread out :p

Thanks for the info. Are there any particular sites you would recommend, or the one's on the first page fine?

The Panasonics he mentioned are just fine for use in a Vamo, and pack a good capacity.

No need for IMRs in a mod with protection circuitry.

Probably but I would prefer to be as safe as possible with batteries and my face. Don't really like batteries in the face tbh.

Finally got around to ordering some of Five Pawns expensive wares and went for 30ml of Grandmaster. Really looking forward to trying it.

This^^
I even use some old laptop batteries in my Vamo, but those Panasonics will be fine

I think you may be scaremongering there :p
A vamo has short circuit protection built in, so it will not go bang or anything so dramatic.

Hmm well sort of agree but personally I would stick with the safe chemistry batteries at all times with any mod etc. Sure it will be fine whatever he does, but I would chuck the trustfire POS tbh, for example

I'm having a moderate amount of taste return but not completely there. However, enough to get an enjoyable vape. Here's my thoughts on scope's apple tart after a week's steeping. 12mg nic strength.

It's really nice. To my palate though it's extremely similar to vaping kings apple pie and custard which I also love. Same flavour of the apple and cinnamon, not that much different tbh. But the scopes apple tart has even more cinnamon and more obvious pastry taste that I don't really get from the vaping king juice. Really reminds me of steamgunk's snickerdoodle I've tried from a sample but with apple instead of ginger. Vaping kings apple pie and custard is a lighter and slightly sweeter vape, scope's apple tart is richer and more buttery. Both absolutely delicious in their own right, with subtle differences. The Scope bottles are filled right to the top which is great.

I didn't get any free samplers though. :/

Do these flavours have nicoteen in them? You're still inhaling nicoteen and not the other ***t that goes in ciggies? I'm now a non smoker - gave up using champix. Just curious to see if those that gave up ciggies are still addicted to the nicoteen, if there is such in the flavours :)

E-liquid usually has nicotine in it, but you can get juice that has just the flavours and no nicotine in it. I vape because I am addicted to the nicotine and I actually enjoy it, but I don't want to inhale all the other chemicals that are in cigs. I've been happily vaping for over a year and I feel much better since I stopped the cigs.

If you are using a mech mod, then i would definately recommend IMR batteries especially to a newish vaper.
I actually use ICR batteries in my mech mod, but i know what i am doing, i check for shorts etc... before i put in on my mech.
But that is my choice.

But in a VV/VW mod that has short circuit protection, IMR batteries are simply not needed. The circuit board will not differentiate between IMR and ICR.
The Vamo will simply shut off before any damage will happen to the battery or the user.

Most of the available flavours will come in a 0% nicotine option.
I have been vaping for 11 months now, i vape at 10mg (fairly low) and yes i am still an addict :p:D

Shamless self bump xD

If you dont want to go variable voltage then just keep the battery you are using or even get an ego twist to try a basic variable voltage? ;)
As for tanks, i am not current on the clearomiser market now, but afaik the Aspire bdc has very good reviews

edit.
Or i have seen this review by Todd http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=I26v6C_LH6Q
Its for a N-vape mini pro that will fir on your Ego battery, but has a microcoil fitted and cotton wool, so will last you for ages.
Its expensive at £16 for 1 but microcoils last way longer than normal coils and he supplies cotton wool with them for when u change flavours.

Right I've managed to wait since thursday night until now to try my home-made juice and it's not too bad, colour wise I believe it definitely needs to steep quite a while longer but taste seems good initially. Might mix up a few varying batches to compare.

What did u make?
Fruits are good to go after 24hrs. custards need 3 weeks minimum imo
