I have made microcoils in a Protank 1 for my son in law, he loves them and they last for ages which is better for me. I did try them and they are a huge improvement over the stock coils.

I also have a dripper now, i got the Orieco Storm RDA, and as good as it is, its a pita to keep it topped up by dripping after every 3 -4 inhales lol. Oh and i tend to do direct lung inhales now, even on my kayfuns.
Yes i know its a dripper, but its a next to pc vape and not an out and about vape.
For out and about, i use my Nemisis clone and kayfun clone, worst comes to worst its £30ish quid to replace them but i am very careful with them.

Well done neodude, once you get the hang of recoiling it opens up a whole new world for vaping goodies :D

They both have their pros and cons.
I personally think the Vamo looks like poo, is massive. The right mech would half the size of the Vamo in 18350 mode. I hate the fact I can not vape below 1ohms (You built a sub ohm coil yet? Ah no, you can't, that is why you listed "ability to have lower ohms" last, as if it is insignificant.) which I do for flavour and density of the vapour from a short inhale, also I like a warm vape; it is not just for cloud chasing. ;)

As I said both shine in different areas.

I must admit when I started vaping over four years ago, VV and all the ohm reading, battery read out would have helped a lot; thing is it is pretty much second nature now and I do not need those read outs. (I have a sub ohm capable seperate ohm reader.) The only thing I find, with my vape style, is VV mods severely limit me.

Most serious vapers have or have had both VV/VW and mechanical. I sold my VV mods. :p

You can never beat a good mech though. IMO

Sorry, didn't mean to come across too dismissive of mechs. Knowing me, I'm betting I end up getting a mech then realising just what I've been missing. I must admit, I thought sub ohm was just about cloud chasing. More flavour always interests me. :)

I bottled it away from the Kayfun (for now) and ended up looking at several forums and going with an itaste MVP 2. I will definitely get a Kayfun at some stage but after watching a vid of a guy doing the build, I was kinda put off. It looks simple enough but I feel I will need a tad more experience on vaping before jumping in head first.

I appreciated the advice though guys and it is logged into my brain for a later date.

Fair enough. At least when you eventually do get a Kayfun (and you will) you will know what tastes good so will also know if your coils are good. With no common reference you wouldn't know.

I did exactly that and wasted loads of £££'s on clearos and heads for them, i kick myself when i think about it now, but building on a kayfun really is as simple as it looks.

Guys, is there a custard out there that isn't rich and eggy? I've got kings custard which is great with other flavours mixed in (monkey jizz, apple pie) but too strong/eggy on it's own. Reminds me of the egg custard tart juice which I dislike too. Not keen on my captain custard either. Just want something sweet and light that I can vape all day and not have to put down after two drags. I'm fairly sure it's the egginess putting me off rather than too much vanilla. Accies maybe?

Scopes apple tart is bloody amazing btw, nothing to do with this question though. :p

I was thinking of ABC but for all I know, it's probably much like the others. Also, padge and some other reviewers rave about every juice they try so I take it with a pinch of salt. Padge raved about battenburg cake from waves of vapour, and frankly, it's one of the crappiest juices I've ever tasted.

Well taste is subjective mate isn't it. By your thinking, just pick a random custard and buy it. Why are you asking?

That's a bit unfair, and I wasn't rolling eyes at you either but at WoV. I'm hoping there might be a particular custard to recommend that one or two members might have tasted that answers my specific question. ABC might be it, but you're just mentioning a random custard you have no taste experience of yet. I've got 40 odd juices now, only 3 are any good. I'm kind of fed up with wasting money. I like Padge, but lots of reviewers say all the right things to get more free bottles of juice. Todd doesn't though.

I'll confess up front that I neither smoke nor vape. However, someone I know is interested in trying it out as an alternative to smoking (the latest budget seems to have spurred this interest) and I said I would ask here if there are any tips/starter guides/recommended kits for the complete novice to purchase?

I am not a100% sure whats the best start up kit atm but someone will recommend one soon.
Also get your mate to watch this video, it explains a lot for the novice user.

I did a bit of research (everything I buy has to be quality, I can't help it) and recently bought a v2cigs shisha express kit (it says shisha, I just wanted the clear refillable cart), comes with everything you need and a 25ml bottle. I wasn't a heavy smoker, probably no more than five rollies a day, but it's a habit I'd like to get out of, and I have to say I love it. I don't fancy a cigarette at all, and I'm naturally just smoking the vape less and less, I imagine I'll probably be done with it before the bottle even runs out. The big test comes when I go out drinking, I'll probably take it to the pub, but clubbing I'm just going to not bother, and see how it goes :)

Whatever vape your friend goes for, I'm sure they'll prefer to it actual smoking, I had a "last cigarette" while it charged for the first time, and the taste just repulsed me, I simply cannot go back now! :D

Thank you for the suggestion. I don't think they are looking to give up though - just for a cheaper solution than smoking.

Toke for toke vaping is cheaper than smoking regardless of what you buy, no vape will be the cheapest other than the initial outlay, your ongoing cost will be in the choice of liquids. It was partially a cost choice for me too, since I already smoked rollups to reduce that, and this is cheaper still, you just have to be careful not to enjoy it too much, as it's so easy to vape more! 'Fraid I can't recommend a vape for long term usage though, as I'm still a newbie!

Woohoo!! Astro on the way in. Sigelei 19b on the way out...

KFL in dripper mode is pretty neat, just a right pain that it doesn't all close flush :( Damn warm vape though...

Looking at buying a Ego Twist and a Kanger Protank Mini 2. Unless anyone else recommends something else? Keepng in mind I want something this big, and something easy to rewick/coil? Something I have been told the protank 2 mini is.

Also, where do you guys recommend buyhing these from?

2 of my fasttech orders were dispatched to GB a week ago and two more dispatched today, the wait is killing me, I want my SVD and Kayfun. I would usually order from the UK but the savings were to god to pass up.
