And immigrants will live up to 3 or 4 in a studio flat, claim single rate occupier council tax, apply for a national insurance number while claiming benefits and working!

Oh wait, that was just my downstairs Czech neighbors ;) (Truth)

Thank *** I moved out

That is illegal and you should have pursued the necessary channels to get that resolved, HMRC take that stuff VERY seriously. (I may be misunderstanding what you're saying though depends on their benefits)

See my edit on the other post

Trust me, I would much rather stack shelves than live from bill to bill, I don't exactly come from a privileged home and I've had far from an easy life. I am only a student and I do live in a commuter town so it isn't an easy town to get a job in.

If its a commuter town surely that means people commute? ie don't work in the town? if there are no jobs why not commute?

Having had experience of reporting vehicle tax fraud of immigrant neighbours they do bugger all.

I'm a student, being in a commuter town means a high population density. It also means tons of estates packed neatly with no jobs within walking distance. It is near on impossible for me to get a job from a house with no car, luckily I will be able to get a car and when I leave education will be able to apply for jobs within a 40 mile radius and/or commute. I look for jobs to get an idea of the market, heck I'm currently looking into a job placement working in a shop trying to expand my knowledge in the case that I need to work in one. I will be stacking shelves for free none the less.

Vehicle tax goes to the Police and/or the DVLA not HMRC.

Can I go to any other european country and get a minimum wage job and get topped up with in work benefits to the same amounts as over here ? NO.

You are entitled to work in any other European country and get the related benefits of that state. I don't know how comparable they are but that right does exist.

Anyway, I don't see why the argument is always brought down to minimum wage when we see so much value in the higher end of the skills market. I love the fact that if I get an offer of employment anywhere in Europe, I can up and leave with very few barriers and go where the money is.

Reported it to the council and the estate agents!

Two of them were thrown out for breaking the tenancy agreement.

The last thing I did see though was a brown envelope and a warning note between the plastic front ( Yeh so I peaked ) :p

It is an amazing thing, much of our citizens in the building industry and engineering industry go to Germany because of the jobs out there, Germany is a constantly evolving country and and a very well off country too.

I'm lost :p

So you mean that it was taken care of after you reported it to the appropriate people...

VEL goes to the Treasury like most taxes.

It is reported to the DVLA however who will take appropriate action.

after WWII we rebuilt Germany it has a more modern infrastructure and benefited greatly from the fact we pumped money into West Germany to fight the coldwar. The UK was left with Victorian factories and we had to pay the USA the war debt.

Globalisation is a trend that is unstoppable. We can drag our heels as much as we want but closer international cooperation is inevitable.

I was talking to a colleague once about how I would like to move to Canada at some point. She mentioned that she'd love to move to Ireland, so I asked her why she didn't do just that. She didn't realise that if she wanted to move there, she can just up sticks and move without any visa or anything else required.

Indeed, they are the enforcing agency.

Yep, not sure why she'd want to move to Ireland however as it's not the most stable place :/

I must say that I feel this debate has gone on to to much of immigration and not enough what it would do to our economy as a whole. I for one only see immigration as the best argument to leave and I respect that but I don't think it's as bad as people think it is but do people see what it would do if we lost our free trade?

@Burnsy Didn't know that, knew it was a pretty country but wasn't sure how it's job market was :)
