Hi guys,,,just noticed the Kingston 60GB SSDNow V300 Drive SATA 6Gb/s 3 2.5" (7mm height) Solid State Hard Driveis now on offer for £37.99. Was thinking of getting one for my Mrs pc.My question is,, will it be big enough to fit Windows 7 64bit on??,, thats all that would be put on that drive and I'd use the current 500gb drive as storage. thanks for any advice.

Yes.
With about 30gig left over.

Best used with a traditional HDD for your programs, but there's plenty of room for Windows, browsers, antivirus etc, and a couple of your most commonly-used programs.

Go for it!

I struggle with 60GB SSD on win 8.1+.

I bought it when it was not so cheap (Corsair Force GT) and to test Win 8 while beta.

When I format in April/May I will use my 500GB VRaptor and use the SSD as the cache again, near as fast as SSD in every day use unless you move large video files around every day.

id look at 250gb min nowadays

60gb cant cut it,even with managing everything on it,and the prices are good atm for bigger drives so why wouldn't you

60gb is fine if you plan on caching

60gb is ample if you've got a data drive.

I run two machines with 30gb ssds, around 8gb free on both

it wasn't for me,I got sick of managing it to make room,a clean install yeah, but a year and a half onwards things fill up,esp with the endless windows updates,I ended up switching to caching

It's enough for windows, office and the small programs, without ever having to worry.

However you'll need a separate drive to install games and larger programs.
