Do you get this absolutely dreadful "joke"?

1) You will alienate all the Xbox fanboys

2) You will alienate people like me because I have zero interest in games machines

Why not focus on football because all boys like football unless they are big Jessie girls.
 
Men don't buy their wives handbags. Women are the ones irresponsibly spending money on bags they don't need. Slogan should be "tell him it was only a tenner"
 
The joke is awful -- not to mention awkward, long winded, and completely off target.

As others have said, she should be advertising to her largest target market. Which is women actually looking for a new bag.

Keep it simple, avoid stupid jokes, and play on what they actually NEED this bag for. What is it going to DO FOR THEM that makes it necessary? Do women only buy these things because they're fashionable? Because they look good? What makes it any better than any other bag?

Forget: "These Mulberry bags look great."
Change to: "TODAY: You'll look amazing in Mulberry!"

Marketing 101.
