Whereabouts? I'll be cycling around Hampshire tomorrow :)

I couldn't resist and did a quick zip round the village tonight. Only 5 odd miles, but such awesome fun. Overall incredibly pleased, I expected it to be a little uncomfortable coming from a hybrid, but apart from getting use to the weight difference it's comfy.

Going from Fareham with friends at 8 up to wickham, beacon Hill, old Winchester Hill, drop down to East Meon back up Winchester Hill then home thru Clanfield, denmead, then I'll be going out by myself over to Chichester way and back.

Didn't bother with my aero wheels. Will save that for another day (aka I had a few beers last night and didn't have time)

Ah nice, I'm from Denmead :)

I plan on going to Hayling, via friends in Havant. Are you on Strava? Would be nice to add you, as I guess we would do similar segments.

Great weasther today, managed to wake up early and get out early, gave the gabba a go for the first time today, what a fantastic product. I left the house before 7 with a compression top on, and had to come home to take it off and put on a short sleeve jersey under the gabba. As it was windy today it took a bit off the warmth first thing, but you couldn't feel it underneath.

I went out today with the aim to get in an imperial century in training for my charity ride in May and managed to do it, was happy with the pace and I had a chunk of energy left at the end. Hope this weather continues!

I got out this afternoon for a quick ride. Only 28 miles but a decent amount of climbing. It was sunny! Short sleeves! No leg warmers! Fingerless gloves! Ok, so it was windy as hell, but I guess you can't have everything.

Bike needs a clean... It was horribly squeaky. Whoops. And my indexing is fudged, so I couldn't get into my 28t and had to do the big climb on the 25t. Probably no harm in that.

I have fake oakleys and theyre solid.

Fake sunglasses can be quite bad for your eyes.
If they dont have the proper filters to block the harmful light but are dark so they dilate your pupils and actually let more harmful light in than if you werent wearing anything.

Well it was a nice day and I was visiting my folks so I thought I'd go for a bit of a ride around Suffolk.. and Essex

I think at one point in the ride I was closer to my home in Ealing than where my parents are in Suffolk!

My longest ever ride (although far from the hardest!) but really pleased with average speed especially for a solo ride :)

Aye day was nice really, breezy but we cant be too picky at this time of year!

My DA9000 cassette is creaky, carbon spider like all the reports suggest probably, going to get an Ultegra 11sp or SRAM 11sp.....annoying thing is you cant get a 12-28, all the options start with an 11. :(

Take the DA cassette back to Wiggle and then hopefully they give me a new one and i'll sell it.

Damn, you beat me on a few segments :)

I only did 15miles today, still really getting used to being on a road bike. I found it really quite windy early on, apart from that beautiful day.

Dawes is almost finished.

Waiting on the seatpost from Taiwan.
Ordered bar tape and a Charge spoon today to finish her off!

Very nostalgic to ride with 10 speed friction shifters!

Love the colour, looks lovely with the sun shining on it in that photo.

Thanks.
It's not as nice as it looks on the photo, there was a fair bit of corrosion, It took me ages with very fine wire wool and WD40 to get it looking that good again, but it has come up well.
It rides better than new (so I'm told).
No play in any of the bearings and everything turning freely.

Must admit, it's kindled a passion!

Looking at a 1980's Raleigh ladies 5 speed racer for my daughter now!

I'm sorely tempted to buy a Dawes Galaxy as my best bike and do away with all this modern stuff.

Road cycling can be enjoyed on a very tight budget if you are willing to forgo the modern hi-tech bikes.
