too many people in London

It's all part of The Great Forced Multicultural Experiment.

I hope you felt suitably Enriched by meeting people from cultures that don't consider regular bathing important.

This morning on the train I was standing next to a white gentleman who stunk of ****.
You white people and your culture are the worst.

One or two 'bad apples' doesn't mean a culture

Is this you offering yourself to be culled? Very good of you as most people who suggest that seem to mean that it is for other people to have it done to them so it's rare to see someone actually taking responsibility and acknowledging their part in the problem they have identified... ;)

Good point & you're right. I don't really think about the mechanics of it any more than it being maybe us running out of Fossil fuels or some other major disaster that reduces us back to just relying on the Sun which would have a natural effect on the population overall.
Whatever happens to reduce us back to the Sun as our major energy source would be the cause of the massive population decline,If I was one of the casualtys then so be it.

London probably is too busy but that's part of the trade-off for it being a hugely successful capital city. If it wasn't this busy or successful then we might well have more of a problem in our economy at least, it's arguable about whether there could be a better split of resource allocation and if that would improve the situation for the rest of the country but that's probably a whole new debate in itself.

A worldwide two child policy would be much better. Unfortunately we have a pyramid scheme for a economic model so that wouldn't work, who would pay the pensions of the baby boomers... Instead we should just **** the planet up more instead. :(

Have you actually been to other cities? London is an unfriendly, polluted ****hole compared to actual nice cities like Barcelona.

Perhaps we should aim to be more like Manchester, a mix of eastern Europe and Plymouth (not the good part of Plymouth, the 1960s city centre). That way at least no one will visit London...

Everywhere you go there's someone coming towards you bumping you etc.

Stop dawdling then, you ****ing tourist. :p

Stand to the right on escalators and walk are a decent pace. No-one will bump into you if you follow the etiquette.

Perfectly healthy thanks... Haven't needed to see a doctor for a problem in years... ;)

On the flip side that means I don't get sick days off work... :(

Do you take the district line by chance? I spend most of my time on the Met and central lines.

We wont rely on just the sun ;)
I'm sure our technologies will advance quick enough to maintain an unmaintainable population growth ;)
That being the ability to create power without the need to use readily avaliable fossil fuels and making crops with yeilds 3-4 times greater than currently possible.

My move is probably 2 years away so I don't feel it as much as yourself.
I suppose having a few friends in London will soften the blow of the sheer number of people I will have to face when I eventually go down there.

For me it's a career move for myself and my Girlfriend, money is also much better down there. Ultimately we will be buying a place outside the M25.

It will be a career move for me too. Have to finish my coursework, then I will be over there to get some work.

The sooner the better, £800 a month is just ..... -sigh-

I've been to Belgium plenty of times now and your chocolately land of yummy goodness has its flaws too! You guys leave amazing architecture to rot once abandoned (to my benefit :p) and also haven't revamped many of your towns as they still look like the industrial places they once were, drab and grey

Don't even get me started on the state of your roads.

How'd you like them apples eh!

But on the subject of London, I visit friends/family often but would never live there. Living there means owning a car is a bit silly given you can't drive very far without constant start/stop traffic and it's too noisy and busy. I like living down South by the sea. The air is just better and the views nicer.

Yes I saw your pics MRK very nice there are quite a few empty buildings around yet the politicians are always saying we need to build more.... :(

Renovation usually means adding masses of concrete everywhere but I don't get your part about roads? They are quite good in the Flemish north it's only in the south (Walloon) that things start to deteriorate but again that's due to politics as well. ;)

Yes I'm talking about Oxford street...grrrr large crowds + overheated shops = annoyed me...:(

Still think London is an amazing city and some of the architecture both modern and ancient is fanstastic.

Oh and Leicester Square on Saturday night was a real eye opener... Luxury cars going past tramps and people drinking like tomorrow wasn't coming...

Shock-horror as Londoners defend London.
Lived there for 14 years, hate ever having to go back. Can name several cities in the UK that are better.
Can think of even more around the world.
Great public transport?! Just lol. Dirty, over crowded, old and strike ridden.

lol got the escalators right all right however that was the problem couldn't go at a decent pace traffic lights every 50 meters ....

London loves its traffic lights.
