What a pain in the arse!

Went to work this morning on my summer bike as hoping for a few miles after work. The problem is, following an MRI scan I've been told this morning by my doctor that I've fractured my Coccyx. The Doctor didn't suggest stopping cycling, but now that I know it will play on my mind. Damnit!

Just carry on riding. There's nothing you can do to actually fix it so just ignore it as best you can. I did mine 8 years ago and still find it uncomfortable to sit down for long periods of time, but I'm fine on a bike.

Who on here services their own hubs? How easy it is? What sort of tools do you need? How often should you do them? I've got tiagra hubs on my wheels and they've probably done about 3000 miles so I'm wondering about stripping them down when I'm cleaning and fixing up my old bike.

Fog? Yeah it was horrendous over the weekend.

Helping a charity ride with coast to coast and top of hartside at 1900ft ASL you couldn't see more than 5 meters, winds were easily 20+mph and it was absolutely freezing.

Are they cup and cone? Cartridge?

I've done the cup and cone hubs on my previous wheels as decathlon typically ship their wheels with a hint of grease. Spanner to undo the lockring, slide out the axle, take out bearings, clean, grease, put back together. Was quite easy.

I've changed the cartridges in my Hopes. Was a pain getting them in and out but should be easier.

Oh, so this is what 70kg looks like from underneath.....

Good work! I'd like to get down to 70kg by the summer, but I don't know whether I'll manage it. I seem to settle fairly comfortably at about 75kg.

Well some of you might remember I asked which bike to buy about a month back on here. I finally got on and bought a bike, went for the B'Twin Triban 5 in the end, so main features is a alu frame with carbon fork running with a sora groupset. The reason why I went for that over a Merlin bike or maybe the Felts on Wiggle was due to wanting a shop that I can take it back to if I have issues. It comes with a lifetime guarentee on frame and 2 years on the mechanicals which I was impressed by.

Only done ~10miles on it so far so too early to give a proper opinion. No pictures as it got too dark tonight before I remembered to take a photo. Been having to look up how to adjust the front derailleur as it pushed the chain off the ring when I was out riding.

One thing though, what do people recommend to carry with me on this? It has come with some cheap lights (for free with the bike) but what else do people recommend?

i went from 73 to 70 since christmas, but im back up in the 71.5-72 range since starting my dissertation

ah well.
