Which phone to get for 80quid

Nokia 520 by a mile. Going to be significantly smoother than any other phone in that budget range and will last longer.

Secondhand iPhone 4, anything new in that price range is better off in the bin tbh.

Great phone to use and not much fuss to teach parents how to use but defo not great for pictures. No flash and the quality feels under par even compared to my old Lumia 800.

Second hand is the way to go for anything photo related.

Android - Xperia, S2
iOS - iPhone 3S / 4 (maybe a push)
WP8 - Lumia 720, 820, 920 (at a push)

Missed the bit that said pictures although I'd question whether a 3 year old phone would be better for that than the 520.

Nokia N8 has a 12 megapixel camera - it will smoke anything under £100 apart from an actual camera

it's an outdated phone running an OS with not many apps/features. but it does work as a phone and a brilliant camera. free sat nav with local maps too.

I got the 520 when it was on offer at CPW, missus tried it and apart from the WP8, the photo was poorer and no flash was a killer for her snappy snaps. Handed it over to my mum and she's happy with it. Apps run as they should (she don't game so 512mb limit no issue) and she never use her phone for photo, so it's a win. For a not so tech savvy Women, she pick up WP8 quicker than her JB Android.

Got an 820 second hand, same age as my 920, an upgrade for my missus Lumia 800 and she's satisfied with it all - especially for photo quality. Age isn't an issue, as long as the function fits. Not everyone wants the lastest and fastest.

I persoanlly can't say the Moto G is any better but general review puts it you get what you pay for, so second hand iPhone 4, S2 and the likes should fit the bill, otherwise, hunt for a Nokia 720, 820 et.c

save extra £80 and buy the nokia lumia 920 if you really care about the camera.

its going for about £169 at tesco direct and well worth the extra if the camera is you main requirement. It takes great pictures for a phone that is.

apart from that moto G but the camera is not great.

willing to buy second hand?

Its tricky because at that price point they have to make compromises and the camera is often a bit of a let down, the moto g being a good example, cracking phone for the money but....

How about just but a camera?

Alcatel one touch idol s, 4.7" 1280x720, 1.2ghz dual core snapdragon 400 with adreno 305, can be had for ~£80 brand new with (topcashback of £31.50) from ee.
Not sure about the camera, but i'm thinking of buying one as a backup phone.
