*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Mine seems okay so far (and I'd hope it would be after only a few weeks) but I can certainly see from the 'texture' of it that they're probably not going to hold up as long as the previous Dual Shock sticks did.

All the complaints about the pads prove that the pads are not built to a good enough standard. They should be built to take a battering, they aren't.

Question re download games..

I bought the download version of 2nd son and much prefer not having to had a disk in the drive. Is there some way I can get a download version of BF4? I already have the game on disk but don't want to have to buy it again.

Not that im aware of mate, they want your money :( i would suggest selling on MM and rebuying digital. You can always trade games in for psn credit at Game but you wont get the best price

Long time xbox user here, but looking to make the change across to PS4 as all my regular playing crew have made the jump across!

I'm going to pair it a new TV, the sony bravia kdl42w654asu so should look lovely!

Any other xbox'ers here who have moved over? How have you found the change in controller? It seems awkward to me the couple of times I've picked it up.

I still use the 360 pad on my PC, and have an XO also, but the DS4 pad is great and very comfortable. No problems with it at all.

Hated the DS3, but the changes they made (for the better) are massive.

Amazon trade-in offers £22 for BF4 at the minute. Not great but that or selling it to someone is your best bet here as said.

BF4 is the only disc game I have though so I just leave that in all the time as I don't use the PS4 for movies so it wouldn't make a difference for me if it was digital.

I made the jump, for the same reasons (although I own a XBO also now - titan fall is just too good )

The controller is still behind the 360 controller, but miles better then the DS3, and worse then the XBO controller too, which is itself slightly worse then the 360 one imo.

The system on a whole is inferior in terms of functionality and ease of use (imo) to the 360 - but slightly superior to the XBO, although the XBO is improving every month whilst so far all we're seeing on the Sony side of things are misc non-mandetory patches with no patch-notes.

Games wise, I don't really play the PS4 much atm due to Titanfall, I tried Infamous but its still as dull as the previous versions (my opinion obviously, a 6.5 or 7 out of 10 game, not a next gen blockbuster) and looking to the future it doesn't look much better on -either- console - of the announced titles 'In production' theres maybe 4 or 5 max on either console that I am really looking forward to. The PS3 exclusives didn't work for me at all (with the exception of 'The Last of us' which i hope gets a PS4 port!) and, again imo, were all significantly less fun then the 360 ones, so I am hoping to a return to form from the PS2 era and to see something new - If i have to last a whole generation on rehashed Infamous, Uncharted and God of War I think I'm going to cry. I hope for the same from xbox tbh, although I can stomach Halo and Gears for a little bit longer - but not a whole generation.

TLDR - as it stands, my PS4 is my go to multi-plat machine because stuff looks better on it, my XBO -seems- to be my go-to machine for exclusives, however this -can- change, and I hope dev's grow some backbone and try something new IP wise.

Cheers for the read! That some good content there and very helpful.

I made the jump and haven't looked back. The controller is amazing and PS Plus is REALLY good value. Infamous and Killzone have been really enjoyable and I can't wait to see what Quantic Dream/Naughty Dog come up with. The Last of Us PS4 is all but confirmed now btw. The Vita is a really nice companion to the console as well.

Took me a couple of days to adapt personally, i had been a Xbox user for 6 years previous to my PS4. It wasnt getting used to the sticks or triggers it was the Dpad etc i was trying to press the Dpad above the left stick like Xbox which obviously wernt there. I find the sticks actually more accurate and the triggers feel more responsive too.

My most difficult thing moving over was that the "X" button was in a different position to the 360 pad. Was mildly annoying for a week, now it feels like its always been there.
