*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

The controller is still behind the 360 controller, but miles better then the DS3, and worse then the XBO controller too, which is itself slightly worse then the 360 one imo.

I'd say the DS4 is behind the 360 controller as well but better than the X1 controller. I think the 360 controller is the best controller ever made.

Long time xbox user here, but looking to make the change across to PS4 as all my regular playing crew have made the jump across!

I'm going to pair it a new TV, the sony bravia kdl42w654asu so should look lovely!

Any other xbox'ers here who have moved over? How have you found the change in controller? It seems awkward to me the couple of times I've picked it up.

DS 4 does not feel as natural as my old 360 controller trigger buttons taken abit of time getting used to the fingers kept slipping off them ... Need thumb grips for the left and right thumb sticks .... But the DS4 is a lot better than the DS3,as I finally gave into my son and brought him a ps3 and the ds3 is just to small makes my hands hurt playing for long time .... If there is ever a 3rd party ds4 based on a 360 controller I'd buy it .... But then I expected some problems after using a 360 controller for something like 6 years and going back to a DS controller just feels alien even after having a ps1/2

For me, the DS4 is the best pad I have used (I never liked the Xbox asymmetric pad). I caveat this statement though that the stick wear on the DS4 is atrocious. Sony need to sort it out.

Pretty much my opinion, though I havent really used the XO pad that much.
The analogue sticks on the DS4 are noticeably more accurate and sensitive than the Xbox 360 controller's.
I really hope it leads to more (FPS) games that have no aim assist - most impressive/disappointing feature of the DS4 are its sticks :p

ps3ud0

Another ex Xboxer here!

Having owned my 360 from launch my one concern about swapping to PlayStation was the pad (as the DS3 was awful). However, that concern disappeared the second I picked up the DS4.

Excellent controller. Nice weight, accurate sticks, great triggers and comfortable. As good as the 360 controller in my opinion (once you're used to it) and better than the XBone controller (which has horrible R1/L1 button placement for me).

All my mates say they struggle with DS3 now since getting the DS4. Personally, I've went back to DS3 a lot recently for Dark Souls 2 and while the DS4 is certainly much better, I don't find the DS3 bad in any way.
It's not as good as 360 or DS4 pads but I can happily game on it for hours and have no issues.

The amount of play in the sticks is terrible, BUT I never notice it affect me in a game which is weird.

By all accounts the DS3 should be rubbish to use but I just find it works perfectly fine.

Still, very glad they made the changes regardless.

Have to say the One controller is one of the worst controllers I've even used. The shoulder buttons are incredibly uncomfortable to use and I don't like the analogue sticks either. The 360 pad is much better but I still think the DS4 is a class above. It sits along side the Gamecube controller as the best controller ever.

You could always plug your DS4 in to your PS3 :)
I did this for Dark Souls 2. Works great but you can't use the home button and having it always connected is a pain.

Was in Tesco today, they had the x1 controller on display with a x1 behind a perplex display case. picked up the controller and instantly knew it wasn't feeling as good as the ds4. when I picked up a ds4 for the first time I was instantly impressed...

360 controller was like that, instant like, so going on my own feelings I'd say the ds4 is as good form the moment you pick it up as the 360 controller, certainly on par with the 360 controller in any case

Haha damn phone messing up.... I mean i bought covers for the ds4 sticks, added grip and larger so my clumsy thumbs dont slip off. Plus i found rubber on pads poor, cracking etc so much better all round now lol
