Exclusive AMD Radeon R9 295X2 Preview

AMD Radeon R9 295X2 is the latest addition to Radeon R9 200 series. This is the first dual-GPU graphics card based on Hawaii architecture. The first thing you probably want to know is whether R9 295X2 has full Hawaii cores. Well it does! AMD R9 295X2 has 5632 Stream Processors, 352 Texture Mapping Units and 128 ROPs.
Radeon R9 295X2 is equipped with a total of 8GB GDDR5 memory across dual 512-bit interface. While the GPU clock is set somewhere at 1018 MHz, the memory runs at effective 5 GHz (1250 MHz).

I take it the big players will all be releasing a full-cover block for this? Seems such a shame that anybody planning on buying this and slapping a block on it still needs to pay a premium for that hybrid monstrosity.

Interestingly, if that benchmark is anything to go by it would appear to be ~14% faster than a stock 290X CF setup at 4K, so would that point to a 14% factory overclock on the cores? Around 1140Mhz out the box?

The hybrid cooler would certainly allow a factory OC if nothing else, sure.

I merged to the wrong thread, but have corrected.

Why start a new thread when we have one for this GPU?
