Siliconslave's how to make espresso thread

New grinder time!

Its my Birthday coming up, and she says my budget is £250 (ish):D

At the mo, I quite like the look of the Macap M2M I have read a few good reviews about Macap in general.

I was thinking about the Rocky, but have seen a few reviews mention clumping, has anyone here got one?

Any other suggestions for around that budget?
I'm after a doserless version that I can easily swap between grinds.

£250? Almost new Eureka Mignon territory.

Definitely in used Mazzer Super Jolly territory. Can easily adapt the doser to be a clean sweeping one.

Personally, I'd go for the Mazzer. Built like brick outhouses and can run forever.

Sorry guys, the aero press has been sent to the new owner last week :)

No problem Raymond, great of you to offer in the first place, if you decide to rid yourself of any of your guitars can i reserve first place :D.

ive heard great things about Mazzers but i have never used one myself, i do have a Eureka Mignon and for its size it weighs a ton and is very well made, its also a very highly regarded for its size as compared to Mazzers its tiny and very comparable grind apparently

I do quite like the look of the Eureka, someone elsewhere posted a pic of one next to a gaggia classic, that sort of size looks good for me as well.

GTanny, do you have a coloured one? I was wondering if the coloured parts are painted metal or just plastic?

I'd also recommend the Eureka, seeing that I have one :). I think I've had mine for 5 years, and it is a superb grinder. Compact, well built, easy to clean and maintain, easy to adjust the grind, and of course, produces a very good good grind.

Finally released - full running orders for the 3 days we know of so far.

Love the Japanese branding! All the ones I've seen were without the box (sitting on people's shelves). :)

Yeah the box is brilliant, typically Japanese and crazy.

Used it this weekend was surprisingly easy and quick to grind. Wouldn't fancy using one as a daily thing though.

I bought a used Mignon Eureka last week off another forum and loving it. Very sturdy, compact, quiet and easy to adjust. I'm pleased I returned my MC2 for this.

i did return it. i bought another used classic with a PID on the forum. and the results were immediate. within 4 or 5 goes i produced something pleasant and drinkable. also able to produce some passable microfoam for a latte.

with my new Rave beans resting - this weekend should be fun :)
