Ouija boards

You fools know nothing. My ouija board has predicted that at least one poster here will die within the next one hundred years. Also, at least one* poster will commit self-abuse in that time.

If that's true then why do people bother doing it in the first place?

Whether you believe in or not, getting involved with the occult has had negative consequences for many people.

in what way. besides some nutter killing them of course

I would assume it's all psychological.

If you mess with a ouija board and then something odd happens, you are bound to tie it straight in with the paranormal rather than look for a rational explanation.

Why are people still creeped out by these? It's been known for years how these work. You essentially subconsciously move it without noticing. Nothing supernatural.

If ghosts aren't real why does every single human culture believe in ghosts, even cultures completely isolated from the rest of the world? Because ghosts are real.

Despite my Darwinist theories on life, there are times that I am seriously spooked.

There is no doubt that humans have a strong bond with the afterlife.

Ancient humans used to carry their ancestors bones until all living memory of that person was forgotten.

Ancient culture was based on these (superstitious) beliefs, yet despite education and science it still spooks me (and many others) now.

Haunted house - LMFAO.

Ouija - no thanks.

My dad and my aunt told me about when they did one as kids, glass shot off table about 4 foot away from wall and it hit it and smashed and no way can 2 kids do this with 1 finger on the glass. Even to this day they still say about it and how it creeps them out

Well that has ruined my evening fap.

I am a skeptic but the obvious question is:

'Has anyone's life ever been enhanced by messing around with such things?'

I guess you could argue there are people who make money from such things but for the average person why bother?

I'd really like to think that they're bunkum, self hypnosis etc.
On ones I've done there was a prediction of a death that came true 2 weeks later (an unexpected death too), burn marks from the glass on the table, frozen glass, glass flying off with nobody touching it. Lots of weird stuff.
I wouldn't do it again. Even though I'm an atheist.
But, if Ouija Boards are bunkum, why do the disbelievers never do them?

Did it once when I was younger, and my mother especially was particularly angry when she found out. "Don't mess with that **** in my house" and blah blah blah.

Nothing happened. I was very disappointed.

I've done them a few times in my earlier years, had one very nasty experience and I will not go anywhere near them again nor advise anyone else to. Say what you will about them, until you have that experience stay a disbeliever. They are far from BS I give you my word on that. It's no different than magic or hypnotism, until it happens to you and you see it with your own eyes, it's very hard to believe.

Even I've got wild ouija board stories from when I was young but I now realise it was all made up.
